Positive: Guido and his family are lovely hosts. I felt very comfortable and welcome here. The accommodations were very comfortable and beautifully taken care of. The food was also delicious. Luquina is a very peaceful place to retreat from the busy city of Puno. It was so peaceful to sleep with the sound of the waves and see the stars so clearly at night. I enjoyed the animals, especially the little piglets. Guido took me kayaking, which was absolutely the favorite part of my stay!

Negative: I wasn't mentally prepared to stay an hour outside of Puno. I thought I needed to be doing all the touristy stuff but I regretted going back to Puno the moment I did and wish I was back in peaceful Luquina.

Positive: Right on the other side of the lake and in a lovely situation. You can wake up with the view of the lake right in front of you. You're made to feel really welcome and this will provide an experience that completely different and unique.

Positive: I absolutely adored my short stay here. We had a warm, very comfortable studio with a part glass roof and one glass wall leading onto the terrace on the shore of Titicaca. Needless to say the view was incredible and the night stars and moon just beautiful. The studio has a great bathroom with a bath and lots of hot water and shampoo and conditioner which we were not carrying so it was greatly appreciated. The desk are just inside the window could be separated from the bedroom area by curtains thus allowing for different sleeping rhythms. The evening meal was delicious and above local standard. The family were so friendly and welcoming and we loved dressing up in local costume with Hope and Emma the young daughters and going for a short walk with them and Nick, the dog.

Negative: That we only had one night booked.

Summary: Luquina is more than a bed for the night.It is an experience to be relished. e

Positive: I had a wonderful and relaxing time here. The deluxe room with kingsize bed I booked is lovlingly furnished, I really appreciated the big windows and the peruvian textiles. The water in the shower is hot, the breakfast tasty, the hosts helpful and friendly, the room is big and clean, has a table and a couch, the bed was very comfortable and the view soothing. the hotel itself is run by a young family and is located directly at the lakeshore. sheep, chicken and donkeys are casually walking by, you can really see and feel the quiet countryside life here.

Negative: The tour to the reed islands I booked there wasn't worth the money, but you can easily book it somewhere else or ask the host for another tour.

Positive: Sat on the shores of the lake, the property offered beautiful views and sunsets. There is a mix of buildings for both rooms as well as serving breakfast and dinner. The real hidden gem was Guido, Sarah and their children who were delightful. We were able to engage in several activities, such as harvesting and thrashing quinoa that made it unique and educational.

Positive: We spent a lovely 3 nights at Luquina Utama Lodge. Guido and his family are very friendly and welcoming, and always made sure we were comfortable during our stay. The rooms are really spacious, well decorated and ventilated. You can tell thought and care have been put into making them nice places to spend time. Our bed was cosy and the shower and tap consistently had hot water. The food is wholesome, home-cooked fare, varied and tasty, and they were able to cater for vegetarians. Finally, the location (right on the shore of the lake) is incredibly picturesque, and there are a couple of miradores you can walk to. We did a free activity each day, and could also book additional tours (e.g. to the local floating islands) through Guido. However, if you just want to spend all day relaxing in a beautiful location, this place is perfect. If it's a choice between staying at some hotel in Puno and coming here, you should absolutely come here.

Positive: This is truly a unique place for several reasons. First, the location by the lake and in the heart of Luquina community makes it a relaxing paradise. You can enjoy spectacular views and walks in the quiet farming neigborhood. Second, Guido, Sarah and their children are great hosts, very kind, touchy. It was a pleasure to spend time with them!! We very much enjoyed a joint walk with Gina to Miradoro and a scent of flowers with little Ema. I would recommend you make sure to set your expectations right before going here - you will be a part of the family for a few days and this is a gift you cannot pay for. In my opinion this is not a partying destination, I cannot imagine a noisy group of tourists coming here. But I might be wrong. Also worth to mention that if you do not have 4x4, you better walk down the hill otherwise you must stay forever. But surely this would not hurt.
