The cottage is located within the Palm Key Nature Getaway, a private 350-acre island that hugs the beautiful Broad River. Majestic Live Oaks are scattered throughout the property. Hawks, egrets, ibis, wood storks, herons and eagles are forever present in the skies and marsh. Enjoy the sound of silence.
This four-bedroom cottage features 8 queen-sized beds – 2 beds per bedroom. Each bedroom has its very own en-suite bathroom. Every bedroom also has private access to the back porch or second level deck where you will not want to miss the stunning sun rises that greet you every morning -- worth getting up for! The kitchen is fully equipped for preparing meals and there are two dining room tables to comfortably seat you and your guests.
The cottage is the perfect getaway to reconnect with family and friends without any of the modern day distractions, yet with all of the modern-day amenities. Read a book, play a game or put together a jigsaw puzzle up in the open loft area. Enjoy the sun on the upper deck, or relax in the shade on the front porch or back veranda. Bring a fishing pole and try your luck fishing in the freshwater pond in the community. Or try salt water fishing at the nearby Knowles Island Fishing Pier.
It's a great location for kayaking in South Carolina’s low-country black water rivers and tidal marshes. It is also a short drive to Historic Beaufort, Savannah, Charleston, Hilton Head, and one of the Nation’s finest beaches at Hunting Island State Park.
The house is located about 25 minutes from Parris Island. Many families have stayed here for their Marine's graduation weekend.

Summary: This house would have been perfect if the following had been taken care of before our occupancy.1. Every glass, dish, pot and utensil had to be washed before use. Pans in stove drawer were gross.2. Furniture is in need of refurbishing/cleaning.3. Towels and bath mats were raggedy.4. Pillows were old and uncomfortable.5. Back porch was filthy and there were wasp nests.We enjoyed the house and the location, but it is very overpriced for the condition of the house.We have stayed in many VRBO properties but this was most disappointing.

Summary: Girls’ Golf Trip We were a group of 8 ladies from 7 different towns playing in a golf tournament. Because we were from various areas, we had 7 vehicles. But that was no problem as there was plenty of parking in front of the house and across the driveway. The house itself, at first, was difficult to locate as we couldn’t read the address numbers from the road. As it turns out, they had changed the name of the road and the house number. It was Cottage 23 in a small scenic marshland community. But that number wasn’t visible from the road. We found the house to be super clean - wiped down, well-mopped/swept and vacuumed. This house had four bedrooms and two queen beds in each bedroom which suited us perfectly. The beds were very comfortable and all linens were provided. There was a private bathroom attached to each bedroom with all towels,etc supplied. We enjoyed our morning coffee, and the wonderful view of the sunrise, out on the covered porches where a table and chairs were set up outside of each of the two downstairs bedrooms. The two upstairs bedrooms also each had a table and chairs up on the outside porch. The living area had two comfortable full-size sofas and two chairs - one a recliner. The sofas could serve double duty for sleeping. We prepped our food in the galley kitchen- small but it easily took care of what we needed. Great place and loved our time there. Would come back!

Summary: We were able to visit, Hilton Head, Savanna, Charleston and Beaufort on short one day trips. The house easily met our needs. There was plenty of space for 8 adults to spread out. We had a great view from the back porch which changed as the tide came in. My only issue is the distance from home.
