Our nearly new home comfortably sleeps 6 across the two main levels, with the option to rent the owner's quarters for an additional 4 guests. Enjoy relaxing on the beautiful porches, unwind in the game room, and take full advantage of the dock and all the water toys waiting for you! We’re thrilled to share our space for unforgettable times in this peaceful lakeside retreat.
As you step into the great room, the kitchen immediately catches your eye with its sleek new appliances and a spacious marble-topped island with seating for six. It's fully stocked for those who enjoy cooking! The living room features a built-in electric fireplace beneath the TV and triple sliding doors that open to stunning lake views.
These triple sliding doors lead to the back porch, where you'll find a dining area, comfortable seating, and a TV, all framed by the picturesque view of the lake.
The primary bedroom offers direct access to the back deck and includes a private bathroom with a tile shower. The second bedroom has access to the second full bathroom.
Upstairs, a large open common area awaits, complete with a desk, a game console featuring classics like Galaga and Pac Man, a ping pong table, a cozy TV area, and two additional twin beds. With multiple porches, ample sleeping space for six, and plenty of water toys, it's the perfect spot to unwind and relax!
Once you enter the gated subdivision where our home is located, you'll pass the Fonta Flora Trail and spot signs leading to the public cove beach, accessible only by trail or our community! The Fonta Flora Trail offers about 16 miles of mountain biking and hiking trails, winding through the woods and providing scenic lake overlooks. It's just a short walk from the house!
Our dock sits in a peaceful cove, ideal for boating, swimming, or fishing. It features hammock swings, chairs for relaxing, two paddleboards, two kayaks, and lifejackets – all for your enjoyment! Whether you're reading a book, fishing, or watching for kingfishers, the dock is the perfect spot to unwind. Feel free to bring your own boat and tie it up to the side of the dock for use during your stay (please note, the two jetskis are not for guest use). Once you leave our calm, wake-free cove, you can explore all of Lake James, try water sports like skiing or wakeboarding, or simply take a leisurely cruise to enjoy the breathtaking mountain views from the water. We're just a few miles from the Linville Gorge wilderness area and the public boat ramp at Linville Access. Lake James boasts 150 miles of shoreline, with around 30% of it belonging to Lake James State Park. The lake is home to ospreys, eagles, and many other wildlife species that you can spot during your stay!

Summary: House is perfect - has everything you need. Very comfortable beds, common area, kitchen with everything you need including a second ice maker to fill the ice chest. Upstairs area great for kids with ping pong and arcade.Fire pit very nice down by the lake and plenty of kindling for any fire! Corner store has wood that burns well. Kayaks and boards great for exploring! Everything you need in the boat house.Don't miss dinner at Bones Jones, if you're on the weekend, make sure to add your name to the wait list before going.A lot nearby, Fonta Flora trail with bridge by the boat launch, Wiseman's Overlook 50 minutes, Linville Falls 40 minutes, and Linville Falls Winery 45 minutes. Great place and in great condition.

Summary: Great location on a beautiful lake! Home was nice and provided a lot of different activities. We really enjoyed the lake fun with provided kayaks and paddle boards and the evening fun with the provided games, ping pong table and video game machine. Hiking in the area is beautiful and the folks at the marina were so great. Rented a boat to explore the beautiful views from the water. Highly recommend. We will be back.

Summary: We were here last summer and it rained every day. All day long! This year, skies were clear and temps were in the 90’s, but we enjoyed a nice breeze, kayaking, paddle boarding, and floating in the lake! We even managed a hike in the shade on the Fonta Flora trail! The property had everything we needed and we enjoyed every minute!

Summary: What a wonderful weekend! We came to celebrate my daughter and her boyfriend turning 21 and your place exceeded all our expectations! We had a wonderful time on the deck hanging out and swimming on the dock and just relaxing on the big blue pad! The kitchen was absolutely amazing and big enough to enjoy our family birthday lunch! We had some competitive late night games of ping pong and foosball and laughed at how fun it was. This was truly one of the BEST Family weekends we’ve had in a long time! Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your lovely home. We will definitely be back!

Summary: This was a perfect property for my family to enjoy lake activities (kayaks and paddle boards provided by hosts), hiking trails (a trailhead is just a few minutes walk from the house), and lakeside serenity. My family stayed in June 2024, with 3 generations represented. Everyone from my 3yo daughter to my 64yo father enjoyed getting out of the kayaks a d paddle boards, swimming in the lake, enjoying coffee and treats on the back porch, and playing ping pong and arcade games upstairs. As an added bonus, there's a small and historical graveyard on the street. We visited to pay our respects and had fun researching the family. We did have an unexpected snag with smoke detectors sounding in the middle of the night on our final night, but I was able to call and reach the host immediately (even at 3am) so we could resolve and get back to bed. Highly recommend, and I hope to return again to this property in the future!

Summary: This house was just perfect for us. There was so much for the boys to do between the game room, upstairs, kayaking on the lake, and exploring the local trails, just steps from the front door. We enjoyed everything this house had to offer inside and out. The owners are also very responsive, and wonderful to communicate with. We would definitely stay here again.
