Summary: Excellent facility, even more excellent staff!

Summary: The property was great but hard to get to and only had a shuttle at certain times. Make sure you reserve a seat beforehand and that it lines up for right after your train arrives. Also bring snacks because a lot of restaurants weren’t open during the end of the snow season

Summary: It is a clean hotel and in very reasonable price. Only HKD 450/ per night . The lobby is newly renovated and the room is a bit old. But, the room is clean and I have no complaint. U can enjoy free onsen and the environment overall is good.

Summary: Amazing. Clean excellent breakfast buffet. Onsen was awesome. The only issue was they shut down the lifts bc of snow so skiing was hard. lol

Summary: Awesome ski in and out property, if you take the train and get off at the closest station they have a shuttle bus that takes you to the resort

Summary: Nice resort with a few restaurants on site. Facilities were nice and the staff were helpful. Would not recommend for a solo traveler longer than a weekend. Mountain was nice and convenient for skiing

Summary: This beautiful resort would’ve gotten the 5 stars it deserved had it not been for the Vietnamese restaurant in the pas through that I reserved a table at. I was ignored while others were seated and orders taken and weee eating before I was acknowledged. Had it not been for that place experience this place was easy 5/5.

Summary: The Lotte Arai is the best hotel for skiing and onsen. Super soft endless powder snow on the gorgeous mountain hills and the slopes were adventurous and super exciting. The expert++ slopes can be another surplus if you are expert level. The onsen is luxury level. Sitting in the hotel water with snow falling on your head, especially at Lotte's well groomed onsen is unforgettable. The food at the hotel is not luxury level and limited as the location is all on its own with the city being 20-30 mins drive away from the site. One snowy evening when the Japanese, steak house, and Thai restaurant was full we drove out in the heavy snow to a slightly city area and found a local restaurant reccomending their stove rice pot, it became my top 3 best restaurant in Japan. I would reccomend driving out for food there was also a great Yakiniku not far away too.

Summary: Second visit to Arai. Snow was brilliant! Lifts are great compared to the older and more tired resorts like Akakura Onsen. My issue this visit is many facilities were closed. Bakery Cafe, Convenience Store, Asahi Restaurant we closed the entire time or for half our visit. The Plate was also feeling tired in terms of quality compared to our 2024 visit. Rooms and service are great. transfer excellent. Those issues made the great time more bland.
