Positive: Very convenient location and Susan was the perfect host. Many shops, restaurants, and grocery stores within a few minutes walking distance. Train station was a 7 minute walk door to door.

Negative: Must be able to navigate steep stairs and we had no problem even though we are in our mid-sixties.

Summary: Very enjoyable stay in Lok Historics Loft and will stay here again if we return to Haarlem.

Negative: Nothing. Stairs are steep as advised but that 1600 buildings nd great to keep it that way.

Positive: This was a super cute rental in the middle of Haarlem and easy walk from the train station. It had everything we needed for a short stay and we found it to be very comfortable. This was the first shower that I took in all of Europe with water that go hot enough for me, so I enjoyed the lovely shower and cozy bathrobe offered. Communication with the host, Susan, was very easy and she provided us with ideas for restaurants, bike rentals, etc. The apartment is recently renovated and is located in a part of town where cars can't drive, so we found it to be very quiet. There is a small patio, which is perfect for enjoying the small welcome bottle of wine left for us by the host. The decor is a cool mixture of modern and antique and there was a lot of attention paid to detail.

Negative: The apartment is perfectly appointed for a couple of days, but it doesn't have a full kitchen, so it may not be ideal for long-term stays. There are two sets of stairs leading to the apartment, which were no problem for us, but may be a challenge for others. There are low beams from the ceilings, so for those who are very tall, this may be a consideration. I'm 5'2 and my husband is 5'10 and we didn't have any issues.

Positive: We love Haarlem and this is one of our favorite places we have stayed. More affordable than a hotel and bigger space with a more comfortable bed. Great location on a quiet street, but only a 5 minute walk to the Grote Market main square. Very large king size bed with lots of pillows and nice linens. The bathroom is private and all in one space (not open to the room like a lot of them). Nice little patio for drinking wine at night.

Negative: Not staying longer! Everything was great. The only thing someone may want to know is that the stairs are typical of the area, steep and a little tight, but only two short flights.

Summary: Haarlem! Our favorite city in Europe. Great apartment in the city center.

Positive: Absolutely stunning loft in a perfect location! This luxurious lift exceeded all our expectations. The space is very spacious, allowing us to feel right at home the moment we walked in. Cleanliness was impeccable, and every corner of the loft was spotless. Do keep in mind that the stairs are quite steep and small, as its a very old building. The bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable, ensuring we had restful nights throughout our stay. A highlight for us was the charming outside patio, which added a nice touch of tranquility and provided a lovely spot for morning coffee or evening relaxation. Overall, we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and memorable stay. We can't wait to return! Thanks Guido.
