Positive: The location was beautiful. Our host drove us to the nearby slopes and collected us when we asked. He also helped us with equipment hire. We loved the onsen experience there at Log Cottage Epoch. The accommodation is a short walk to the town centre if you go the back way (which we only found out about a day or so before we left). I loved how the bathroom was the warmest room in the cottage - it made showering so much more pleasant after a day in the snow.

Negative: Wish I'd known about the short-cut to town earlier in the stay.

Positive: Everything was extremely clean and tidy, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The beds were super comfy and the underfloor heating made the house so warm and cosy, especially after a long day on the slopes. The dry room was also a huge bonus. Toshi was a fantastic host — really friendly and helpful, and even offered to drop us into town which we really appreciated. And the private onsen was the highlight for us. It was such a treat to soak and relax after skiing.

Summary: We’d absolutely stay here again and would highly recommend it.

Positive: We loved the cottage and the sleeping floor. The kitchen was well equipped and the living room was very comfortable. The area was quiet and the staff extra nice! Playground area for children was very much appreciated by our daughter as well as the super mini train experience!
