Positive: Loved the views the place is ideal just looking over canal plenty to do and visit the staff very friendly couldn't fault this place loved our stay here and would definitely recommend this place good price and well looked after has everything you need from washing machine to dish washer big flat would definitely go again

Positive: Good location, right next to the Caledonian Canal locks with some great views of the passing boats, easy few minutes walk to local attractions, bars, restaurants & takeaways. Flat was spacious with a parking space at the front, shared garden (with lower flat) outdoor benches & clothes drying area.

Negative: Access to the first floor flat was via a covered concrete staircase with the steps being quite worn & when wet are very slippery so you need to tread carefully. The overall flat condition was very tired & in dire need of refurbishment, especially the condition of the bathroom & kitchen, the floors had loose tiles with missing grout which were quite sharp under foot, bathroom cleanliness was also below par (see photos attached.) It was a little amusing that there was a gold award plaque on the living room wall from 'Cottages4you' dated 2009, in all honesty that was probably the last time the flat had been refurbished! Overall the presentation of the accommodation lacked any attention to detail, for example with the bedding - duvet covers & pillow cases were badly creased & had obviously been put on the beds straight from the washing machine without being ironed, laughable really.

Summary: Nice location but accommodation was sadly below par!

Positive: Beautiful location. Very comfortable with all amenities. Very clean and lovely view of the boats going through the locks. Lovely friendly local pubs and restaurants. Beautiful view over loch Ness and lovely for walks along the canal. Hosts very friendly and helpful.

Negative: Stairs may be a problem with mobility issues. Everything else perfect. Also able to fit our van in the parking space.

Summary: Fantastic stay. Beautiful location, clean and comfortable accommodation.

Positive: The apartment was spacious and comfortable for two adults and was well equipped for a week long stay. The cost was very competitive for Fort Augustus but the best thing about the property was the location, which was excellent. Right on top of the canal lock gates and a couple of minutes from the shops and restaurants etc.

Negative: The cleanliness could have been better ie grubby doors and dusty in places. The toilet seat needs to be replaced, as it was broken and had been glued together. The TV was a nightmare. We managed to get it working somehow but anybody staying there in the future may need a TV engineer to get it working!

Summary: Overall very enjoyable. Scotland is stunning.
