The Library on the River is a spacious 2BD/2BA condo overlooking the Iowa River is centrally located, easily accessible from all points around the city, and is exceptionally appointed. The Library on the River boasts large living areas filled with books, board games, a large workspace, and a pool table. The cozy spaces have plenty of lighting and seating throughout to spend time together or spread out during your stay. The deck overlooks the Iowa River and City Park for great sunset views and to watch the city's activity. The Library is located in a quiet building with only 3 units. It’s an ideal spot for friends to meet for a reunion, parents to visit their university student, or anyone attending a seminar at the Workshop or special event at Hancher Auditorium.
We take extraordinary steps to ensure an exceptional stay for each guest and to maintain the beauty and cleanliness of the unit. We also place a priority on our neighbors enjoyment of their property, who we keep top of mind when selecting guests. This property is NOT suited for PETS nor CHILDREN (anyone under the age of 18). There is a 25’ drop off the deck. The property is NOT suited for parties and events. None are allowed. There are two beds for guests; no additional options. Please do not attempt to book for any variance of the above. There are plenty of beautiful properties and premier hosts nearby who allow pets and children.
This is a non-smoking building and property. Quiet hours are between 10 pm and 7 am. There are full-time residents above the unit.
The unit is clearly marked on the porch pillars leading to the unit. The porch adjacent to the driveway is your only access to and from the unit. Please do not access the hallway connecting to the other unit owners and the front porch of the house.
Off-street parking is limited to the driveway adjacent to the porch leading into the unit. A maximum of two cars are allowed in this driveway. Do not block any driveway leading to underground garages. Any vehicle parked here is subject to being towed, and you will be responsible for any and all charges. There is no on-street parking available within the block.
Please do not access any hall outside of the unit nor use the elevator on-premises, as this is private property belonging to other unit holders and leads to private property. Please keep in mind there are security cameras located on the property for the protection of the guests and neighbors.

Summary: My husband and I stayed at this gem to move our daughter in for the school year. From booking to checkout, this property was great! Chandler was extremely responsive and thorough. The house was immaculate, perfectly decorated, extremely well stocked and in a great location for all our Iowa City needs. Would happily stay here again!

Summary: This unit is in a beautiful historic building with a view of the Iowa River and Hancher Auditorium. The decor, furnishings, and accessories were top notch. There was literally nothing missing. One of the best vacation rentals we've ever experienced.

Summary: Place was awesome. Check in process was easy and special treats awaited us. Place is bigger than pictures make it seem. Very spacious. Beds were very comfortable and bathrooms were clean and well stocked. Location is perfect for the University of Iowa. Everything is close by and actually within walking distance. Chandler was great at answering questions and being available. Couldn’t ask for a better experience. Wish we found it sooner.
