Positive: Very quaint cottage, well-appointed kitchen, lovely bedrooms; nice living room. Had its own parking area. Beautiful village.
Negative: When we arrived, there was no cold running water. There was no information about how to remedy this in the information pack. There was no phone reception, so we spent that evening and the first morning driving to where we could make calls to the emergency number (the local number seemed defunct). No answer. We did manage to get through - to the Emergency number - (being passed from one number to another) on the second day. They promised to send someone out - never materialised. Finally, on the evening of the second day (we were there for 3 days), we discovered a notice by the door giving minimal instructions ("Press the reset button on the Flood Check"). We managed to find this and water was restored - but we had not been able to flush the toilet or shower for 2 days! Also, the fridge kept turning itself off for no apparent reason, so we had to throw some food away. Finally, we had difficulty operating the tv. Better instructions needed. This is all a pity as we really liked the cottage. The main problem is the lack of maintenance, the need for better instructions, given the lack of phone reception, and the lack of telephone support. An Emergency number should be manned at all times, surely?
Summary: Needlessly stressful, though we enjoyed our stay when things were running smoothly.

Positive: Location was perfect but we know the area well.Abit of traffic noise in morning but ok,lovely walks close by and good pub a few steps away which is a very welcoming place.Only complaint for us was, its abit tired and could to with a refresh of some furnishing and bathroom/toilet left much to be desired, old bath was scratched and shower curtain orange and mouldy, dirty old floorboards that could do with covering up ! Kitchen very good and fully equipped for all your needs,so in general good.Bus just outside,cafe with great views close by so everything on your door step.
