Positive: The room is clean and smell good The CR outside is very clean and always dry No mosquito even though the area are full with trees With this price we manage to get free breakfast which is very affordable.

Negative: Nothing. I like everything about this place

Positive: The location of Nipa huts is wonderful, you feel emerged in nature and also surrounded by the locals. Even though its location is very secluded (the road towards Nipa huts turns pitch black after dark), it felt very safe, as long as you paid close attention to the potential late night motor cycles and friendly dogs. The staff was friendly and eager to assist, quickly arranging for you a scooter for the days (that are provided by Nipa Huts themselves), a tuktuk or taxi. The resident house dog kept a watchful eye and our rooms were clean as well as the shared bathrooms! Overall you get good value for your money, the rooms are small and basic but perfect for adventurous backpackers. Great home base from where to explore the island: Chocolate Hills, Adventure Parks, River Boat, ... The venue doesn't have its own restaurant but a 15 minutes walk down the road you can find The Fox & Firefly Cottages who will happily welcome you for dinner.

Negative: It was great for a modest accommodation but at the same time you quickly observe that the place still has more potential! Just the common sitting area or bench at the river itself could be made to be more comfortable. The huts themselves are small, so it would have been great for the common areas to be upgraded and made comfortable to spend time. Also the breakfast was good (again value for money) but could maybe be more varied instead of identical from day to day. We noticed that Nipa Huts is in the process of adding an additional building with rooms, so possibly these upgrades are already on its way!
