Positive: This property was beautiful with incredible views and the pool was wonderful for our family to cool off in. It also had all of the modern technology that we needed for a nice stay. Very clean, had great WiFi (even by pool), hot water, and all appliances (except dishwasher). Host Carmela was wonderful! She treated us with such kindness and respect.

Negative: This property was hard to get to. It either wasn’t explained to me very well or I didn’t read enough to know that this villa is far from main road. We rented a car and had to park it on main road. Then we had to walk to the villa, probably close to a 1/4, down steep ramps and steps. Once to villa, it was fabulous, but everytime you wanted to leave for food or sightseeing, it was a tough trek up to the road. But we’re fairly young with young adult children and we managed fine.

Summary: I would recommended this place, especially if you’re interested in renting a villa and just staying there for a few days

Positive: The villa has beautiful views and is generally in good order. The pool is nice and the small lemon grove was very pretty. The lack of cars is nice as the tiny paths and steps are quaint. The mules which help with suitcases and deliveries are lovely.

Negative: The property is overlooked and an old man was staring at my daughter as she was sunbathing which was very uncomfortable for her. Someone else was also trying to watch her swimming through the gate in the evening. Sadly, the neighbours were also doing renovation work so we woke up at 7am to banging, drilling and scraping which went on for hours. There was an infestation of ants in the kitchen, the coffee machine didn’t work and the only plus adapter for the kitchen gadgets was splitting apart. We asked for a partial refund but have not got anywhere with it yet. After another complaint, the owner appeared and was apologising and talking in Italian which we did not understand. However, he just walked in and we didn’t immediately know who he was and why he was there. All less than satisfactory.

Summary: A beautiful location but disappointing experience for us.

Positive: This place is Heaven on earth - it looks better than the photos and description and Carmela was so communicative, lovely & helpful. Set in a stunning 12th century hamlet set in gorgeous hills above Amalfi. Taxis are hard to get so recommend renting a car if you can. Amalfi is a 30 minute drive where you can also get ferries to Capri, Positano etc., and there are lovely villages along the way. Can't wait to come back again and I highly recommend this incredible property and staff! Grazie Carmela!

Positive: The villa is beautiful, dated to what we are used to but probably very traditional Italian and the views were amazing. Pool would have been gorgeous along with the rest of the outside space had we had the weather for it. The host Camille was super helpful in giving numbers for taxis and other recommendations. As below, if we were having a villa holiday with little need to go out this would have been perfect (although we would still need to do a shop and get it up or down the steps).

Negative: There are 390+ steps up to the villa from scala and about another 200+ up to minuta. There had been an accident on the road into ravello so although walking down to get taxis was easier, this meant being stuck in traffic for a long time. The walk up made the ride to ravello easier but the steps were a killer. Although we were told there was a mini bar with various things including milk, and other essentials, there was only red wine. This meant heading out for a shop and the closest one was even further up hill. Had we been there, organised for the whole time with food and drinks and planned on staying in the villa, it would have been perfect (weather permitting) however because we were there for a wedding with a larger party, we spent a ridiculous amount on taxis, factor this in when planning your trip.

Summary: Beautiful villa, gorgeous views, 380+ steps to get there.
