Positive: There was everything we needed: fridge, a kitchen, although the hotel was empty, it was squeaky clean and it felt like home

Positive: Perfect hotel to visit the taroko george. I hope that it survives with the decline in tourism due to the 2023 earthquake. This is the place to stay at.

Negative: Could be nicer looking, but it doesnt matter when you have access to such amazing views

Positive: Amazing bed and comforter. Great location. Still encourage other travelers to come and drive through the park on a scooter (rent it at xincheng station) during the road open hours. The temple at Tianxiang is pretty cool and the road is still spectacular on a sunny day ! Also went to the Taroko Cultural and Creative Park across the street. They had a fun DIY activity with the local women.

Negative: He told me there was no breakfast upon arrival even though the reservation said there was. But they let me do laundry and that was exactly what I needed.

Positive: Good location for being quiet, but very few restaurants nearby. Had to drive to Xincheng (not walkable). Friendly and helpful management. Good communication in advance that Taroko Park closed for extended time due to earthquake road and trail damage.

Negative: Quiet hours weren't enforced. Supposed to start at 10 PM but a group was quite loud in the public area until 11:30 PM until I finally got up and went to say something to the group.

Summary: Good location for Taroko Park ... scenic hotel area.

Positive: Location, Location, Location. If you're going to Taroko National Park, there it is . . right down the street. This was a very large room with two big beds. Lots of room . . . lots of ants. Some ants in the beds — a contrast on the crisp clean white sheets — and tons of ants around the bathroom threshold. (Only one big centipede, though!) Breakfast was a roll, a small salad with some ham strips and sweet potato, and coffee . . . that’s it. We never got to meet the host; the woman who was there most of the time, who handled the breakfast, seemed nice and the location, very close to the park, could not be beat. (There’s a GREAT restaurant about a block away called Truku . . go there!) The ants were a bit disconcerting . . . we would probably look for a different place to stay next time. (The place looked full the day we arrived so changing rooms didn’t seem to be an option.)
