Positive: The cupcakes on the tin were a lovely touch and added to the experience on the farm! It's great that the property still offers a degree of privacy with the entrance through the woodland area despite being attached to the main property. It was really useful for us to have the enclosed space outside for our large dog. The property is suitable for 2 people (plus a dog) and J would recommend highly if you are visiting Dartmoor or the surrounding area.

Negative: Nothing specifically we didn't dislike.

Positive: Private quiet cosy holiday let within a working farm, everything provided with the extra bonus of a delicious cake on arrival. Ideal location to explore Dartmoor country park with Lydford Gorge only a couple of miles down the road and also about a 10 minute drive from Okehampton.

Negative: Cannot find anything to fault only the wind, but saying that the whole country had been hit by a storm the week we stayed.

Summary: Private cosy holiday let within the grounds of a working farm, ideal location to explore Dartmoor.

Positive: Great proximity to Dartmoor. Quiet. Great value for money.

Negative: Fairly small but fine for me. Location is quite close to the A30 & service station. But could barely hear it.

Negative: Our stay was spoilt by the completely thoughtless previous occupants who smoked, even though the cottage is non-smoking. The owner made them leave, then tried her very best (literally) to clean the whole place, including washing all the furnishings, but was unable to remove the smoke smell. This comment should be read as an unfortunate one-off, and not be taken as a reflection of how the the cottage really is. It was just the action of these mindless idiots on this occasion that affected us.

Summary: Nice little cottage but bad previous occupants.

Positive: Ideal for 2 people and well situated for Dartmoor and beautiful countryside, the Granite Trail cycleway, Lydford Gorge (check its open first as the National Trust closed it due to high winds) and towns like Tavistock which has a lot of history and very good museum plus the excellent panier market. It's easily reached as near to the main A30 which makes visiting areas further afield quick and easy. There are also good pubs nearby and excellent home made pasties at Lydford Farm Shop. Little Fern was very well appointed with everything we needed including hot water bottles as well as electric heating! There was a bike shed and outside lighting along our private entrance. There was a vase if fresh flowers and a delicious home made cake plus tea, coffee and milk waiting for us on arrival. Although small it was perfect for us and very comfortable. We felt safe and snug inside.

Summary: Perfect place to stay and come back to after exploring the area.
