Positive: Fabulous stay with a brilliant hostess. It was the perfect break for our little family and the accommodation was an ideal size for a toddler to explore. I was concerned that we might have been chilly in February, but needn't have worried. The property has underfloor heating throughout and the woodburning stove was so cosy in the evenings once our boy was in bed. We even stayed nice and toasty when the snow set in. The lodge is well-stocked with everything you could possibly want and thoughtfully presented. It is situated in the idyllic Scrivelsby Estate deer park. The deer roam outside your window in the mornings - absolutely beautiful! We were lucky enough to be introduced to Treacle the semi-wild deer and got to feed her some treats. The estate is also steeped in history and it was interesting to read about the family's history reaching all the way back to the Norman Conquest. Horncastle is a very short drive away and so it is very easy to get restocked or to pop out for a chippy tea. The estate is right next to the Wolds as well, and well-places to reach all parts of Lincolnshire without being in the car for too long. Essential when travelling with a toddler! The hostess couldn't do enough for our little family and made it so special for all of us. I would thoroughly recommend Lion Gate Lodge and we can't wait to return. :)

Positive: The cottage is set Set in beautiful grounds, full of history. Beautifully clean, with every everything you could possibly need. It is so quite and dark at night it is a real break. Seeing the Deer through the window is just lovely -I have inluded a picture of the when they where further away but thought the misty picture when zooming in on their silhouette was lovely- The owners and carers of the cottage are also so lovely helpful and knowledgeable too. Milk and butter in the Fridge, Tea, coffee, shower gel shampoo and all the little things jou need making it a home from home. We have stayed in some lovely places that didnt have good beds, however the master bedrooms -king bed here was very comfirtable and with underfloor heating it is also lovely and warm. I would say read the folder on the dresser, it contains great info about the property and its back ground -i wont spoilt it now but it is very interesting- We could not recommend here highly enough. Thank you, and we hope to stay again.
