Positive: Unique charming farmhouse Fabulous log fire lit for our arrival

Negative: Owners had not made up all the beds, guessing we were couples. We were singles. We did not notice until too late. Stairs slightly nerve racking for downstairs toilet in the night.

Positive: In a very quiet hilltop location, with views across the valley, the property had everything we needed, inc comfortable mattresses, a good hot shower, lots of seating indoors and out, and beautifully landscaped gardens with tall trees, grapevines, figs, peaches and kiwi fruit. It was very peaceful place and perfect for going to Monet’s garden at Giverny. Merci Elisabeth!

Negative: Kitchen has all the facilities you need, although limited worktop space so do use other surfaces - tables for example - for chopping and serving.

Summary: Rustic French charm in the peaceful countryside, but close to amenities and Monet at Giverny.
