Positive: Quiet location close to shops & restaurants (Dudley's Vegetarian & Vegan options). The resident kookaburra family bathing in the pond in the mornings & laughing in the afternoon. Carpet of flowers in the lawns, Camelias & Rhododendrons still in bloom. Helpful & responsive host.

Negative: The Victorian era lack of lighting in the bathroom really ruined getting ready every morning. The yard for dogs is very tiny & is separate from the cottage so you still have to go outside with your dog anyway & for that reason there was no point using it.

Positive: Great location near everything in Olinda. The hosts were lovely and very helpful and responsive.

Negative: It was super cold in winter - the hosts dropped off an additional heater and slippers which was really kind of them! But nevertheless the cottage is absolutely freezing, zero sunlight which gives a gloomy feel and a bit damp smelling. It would probably be ok in summer though! One wall unit isn’t enough to keep the home warm and the fire didn’t throw out that much heat. Very aware aussie homes have poor insulation but this little cottage is especially cold.

Summary: Good location but probably more of a summer visit due to the cold.
