Positive: Beautiful location, garden was so restful and the river was lovely. No mosquitoes!!!! Bonus. Supermarket very close by to buy food for the barbecue and petrol for the car. A number of take aways and food options also close by. Great for an overnight stay on my way up to Calais!!!

Negative: There really wasn’t anything that I didn’t like about the property. It was well equipped, comfortable and in a great location.

Summary: Great overnight stop between the South and Calais.

Positive: It was totally unexpected! The lovely, pinterest-like décor: every object is beautiful, thoughtfully chosen, and the effect on the whole is fantastic. The large garden with views on the river - such a surprise! My younger dog went for a few swims - my older dog didn't dare jump in as the climb back wasn't easy on her old bones. We had a beer by the river, watching them play, they went mad with happiness at being allowed to run about! The kids also loved the garden, the little strings of lamps, the lovely lawn ...and the good wi-fi. We loved the pergola at the back, and the very comfy bed (and sofa). We will surely come back and hopefully stay for longer.

Negative: Just as a precaution, the garden fence is not entirely dog/child-safe, our cheeky younger dog went to check out the forest at the end of the garden and the adjoining garden - no harm done but it could be deemed unsafe for smaller dogs or young children. Same could be said of the river side of the garden: there is no fence, the drop is quite high and the river seems deep and wide. As I said, our dog jumped in the river but the other one (both are large-ish dogs) didn't think it was a good idea because the climb back is steep and not easyly manageable - I wouldn't fancy having to jump in to rescue a child or a smaller dog. Other than that, it's a lovely place.

Negative: Unable to make coffee at breakfast as there was no cafetiere or filter machine. There was a capsule machine but we had no capsules.

Positive: Beautiful location, lovely property, exceptionally decorated. Watching the otters in the river from the deckchairs. The quietness.. Will come back I hope.

Negative: Bed for me was very soft. No internet but this is mentioned in the description
