Positive: Close to Chaumont and a great stop on the way south from Sangatte or Calais. The hosts were lovely: very welcoming even though we were late, and super-helpful in booking us into a local garage for a car problem we had. Lovely large rooms and an excellent supper and breakfast too.

Positive: Communication with the owner was excellent. The hotel was very easy to find, incredibly clean with everything we needed. The owners are obviously very proud of their hotel and take great care of it.

Positive: We stayed at this lovely little hotel for just one night, but it left a great impression. The family room was enormous — one queen-size bed, a single bed, and even a comfortable seating sofa. The bathroom was also spacious and thoughtfully designed. Everything was impeccably clean from top to bottom. The on-site restaurant served delicious food, and the staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming. Honestly, I’d always choose a family-run place like this over a big, impersonal hotel chain. Places like this deserve all the support — we’re always cheering for businesses that do it right!
Negative: One small note: it got completely dark at night when the street lights went off, so a tiny source of light somewhere low in the room (like in a corner or on the floor) would’ve been helpful. But that’s really just a personal preference and a trivial detail.
