Positive: No breakfast supplied. Access could be a problem for anyone with mobility problems as access to the row of cottages was a narrow gap in the wall. Some difficulty in getting my luggage actually through the gap. Cottage itself was comfortable and clean and quite well equipped, bed was really comfortable and snug.

Negative: Bedside lights were 'iffy' as the bulbs seemed loose and light was not guaranteed when lamp was switched on. Rather annoying for the light to suddenly go out during darkness.

Summary: A nice restful break for me in a quiet village friendly village

Positive: Lovely location, perfect for walks and exploring the Dales. Quite remote and a very tranquil area.

Negative: Nothing to dislike about the property, if I was being ultra picky, the toilet makes a loud noise when flushed, but I think this was due to water pressure along with the taps when turned on. It in no way spoiled our stay though.

Summary: Amazing break, thoroughly recommended. Will look to visit Lavender Cottage again soon. Our dachshund had a great time to

Positive: The cottage is beautiful and quaint! So cosy and inviting, it was a pleasure to stay here over Christmas, we honestly loved it! Sarah and Damian decorated the cottage for Christmas, added little treats for our stay, and made it feel like a home from home.. but better! It was exceptionally clean, had everything you needed, no worries about leaving anything at home, the cottage thought of it all! There were some previous reviews about the bed being uncomfortable, but there's a new mattress, and I can confirm we slept like babies! The open fire was amazing, cosying up on an evening after a lovely walk, throwing some wood on the fire was a dream! The complimentary starter pack provided was a nice touch too! The village of Askrigg is postcard beautiful, and Lavender Cottage absolutely added to that charm! Thank you again for having us!

Negative: The bed. we have never slept in a more wobbly, uncomfortable bed ever. We even cut our stay a day short because of it. The sofa was also very uncomfortable. There was no warmth in our welcome - no tea and biscuits as there is in other properties, just a pint of milk.
