Positive: Ellen and her family are the kindest hosts you could ask for! They were very communicative and helped us get to the accommodation, as well as helping us once we were there. Accommodation was clean and it feels like a very safe place. For anyone traveling from oversees - Ellen asks for a 50% deposit which you need to transfer via a payment service. This is normal for Ecuador and you can trust her :-). Olon and the beach is amazing, great surfing any many cute cafes. Would recommend!

Negative: We booked the smaller ('studio style') cabin and I hadn't realized on booking that it's a single room. It's perfect if you don't need more space but didn't quite work for us as we were remote working. The cabins are a ten minute walk from beach and town center (the walk feels safe). Olon generally has power outages sometimes which mean there is no wifi in the town - just something to be aware of if you're working remotely.
