Positive: Excellent breakfast and dinner buffet. Staff very nice there. Beautiful view of the lake from our room. I particularly liked the chaise lounge in front of the window.

Positive: The dinner and breakfast buffets were outstanding! Dinner was especially impressive with a seafood platter comprising oysters, scallop and big shrimps as well as a wide variety of different dishes. Staff were also very friendly.

Negative: There was no air conditioning in the rooms, only heaters and we were asked not to open the windows to avoid lady bugs getting in. The staff offered us a fan which helped and made our stay comfortable.

Summary: Overall a wonderful experience!

Positive: We stayed two night. Lovely bath on the second floor. Easily the nicest open air bath I got to use on this trip. Dated interiors, but room was clean. Lovely, comfortable beds and pillows. Breakfast was wonderful. Staff was polite.

Negative: While I did say the staff was polite, there was a broken drawer in our room that would not shut, and it stayed open and partially blocked the entrance to the foyer for the two nights we were there. I tripped over it once going to the washroom at night. Staff saw it was broken when introducing us to the room, and I asked the front desk twice about it and was told “we cannot fix this immediately. No one came to even look at it for us or offered to do anything about it; provide something to keep it shut temporarily or change our room, etc. Was slightly puzzled that an upmarket place like that would be okay with something so obviously broken in a room, or be okay with a trip hazard in a room. What if I were eighty years old, with brittle bones, like the rest of their clientele?

Summary: Nice rooms and baths, but apathy regarding broken facilities.

Positive: Our Japanese style room is very traditional but two toilets and sinks were very useful. The half-board meals were amazing, lots of yummy variety. Highlights are the fresh seafood for dinner, teppanyaki steak, tempura and the huge fridge full of desserts. The view of the lake is beautiful and calming. (Look out for the little robot lawn mower on the grass!) We bought a lot of tasty snacks at the gift shop within the hotel, perfect for our long road trip. There is also a coin laundry room.

Negative: The tv is small for the size of the room. The sinks are very low, even for average adults. None of the staff speak English at all and even using Google translate was difficult to communicate.

Summary: Get the real taste and feel of traditional Hokkaido!

It’s absolutely perfect, clean, comfortable, with great onsen, sauna, plentiful options breakfast, 24hs coffee and so well designed everywhere on premises. Store in property great, many things to do around and quite serene. Would stay again on a heartbeat and whirl like to return in the winter. Thank you
