Come create memories at The Lakehouse Retreat! This is an unique and family-friendly place. The home has 100 feet of direct lakefront access. Newly custom-built home in 2020 on 3/4 of an acre at the end of a private road. Stunning lake views!
Our property is nestled in at the end of a beautiful, peaceful dead-end road. However, all major shopping (grocery, liquor/beer, restaurants, etc) are just a few short miles away on Federal Road. You can reach it within a 5-minute drive.
Our neighborhood and immediate neighbors are all wonderful and all have lake front properties as well. We have truly come to love all 4 seasons at the lake as it is such a quiet and private setting with zero through traffic. Summer offers lazy, warm, and sunny days spent in the lake swimming with beautiful sunsets each night, while the winter can offer the largest hockey/skating rink in the world (if mother nature cooperates). Fall is probably our favorite season as the foliage views over the lake are hard to beat!
The property has a very large backyard with 100+ feet of direct lake front access. A brand new oversized dock system was installed in 2022 for access to swim in the lake. Dock has a permeant ladder for endless swimming. In addition, the property boasts a stunning lakefront lounge/patio area with 4 sun Restoration Hardware Lounge chairs, a fire fit with ~10 chairs, a flag pole and a small sandbox for the little ones and an additional composite new deck with 2 more lounge chairs. You can fish right from our dock or waterfront too! Candlewood Lake has some of the best bass fishing in the state of CT! We have a propane grill up on the deck at the house for use as well.

Summary: This home was great for our Thanksgiving holiday! We had 8 adults, 2 kids and a dog and it was very comfortable. The views are gorgeous, the beds were super comfortable and the house has everything you need. The kitchen was fully stocked - however it was a bit unorganized and it was hard to find what you needed - everything was everywhere. Dishes and silverware definitely had to be rewashed, there was food stuck on them. I would be cautious about renting this house in the winter months if you need the 2 bedrooms with King beds. They are in the walkout basement that does not have heat. Overall, a great time was had by all!

Summary: The property is exactly as pictured with plenty of room for all of our guests. Linens and towels were provided and that is always a bonus! The hosts were gracious and responsive. Highly recommend this property!

Summary: We rented the home for a weekend in October as we were getting married locally and needed a place for our bridal party to stay. We were so happy with our choice. We ended up getting some beautiful photos on the dock area and there was plenty of space inside for a friends/family to be comfortable, and most importantly - to keep my fiancée and I separate for a few hours. It was convenient to different food options and 15 minutes to our venue. The homeowners were so kind and easy to communicate with. We’ve already discussed renting again for our anniversary next year.
