Summary: Our family stayed in this home for our son’s wedding weekend, and it was the perfect house! The host, Dennis, was wonderful to work with and was easily available to answer any questions we had! The house was super clean and well equipped! The view is amazing! We will definitely be returning to this property!

Summary: This was the first of many future family vacations - everyone had a great time - adults, kids, grandkids, brothers, etc! I would highly recommend this location! Only downer was that it rained all day our last day and we ended up leaving earlier than expected.

Summary: Our family of 11 enjoyed our weekly stay at this awesome house on Lake Hickory. The walk to dock is sloping but not too steep for older adults. We liked the convenience of nearby grocery stores and produce stand. The house was nicely stocked with kitchen dishes and utensils, linens and pool accessories. Overall, our vacation selection of Hickory Retreat was excellent!

Summary: This is the second year our family has come here and we just reserved it for our 2023 vacation! I can't say enough good things about this beautiful, we'll equipped lake home! Dennis and Jane are superb hosts! We couldn't ask for a more perfect place for our family of 10!

Summary: There are no words to describe the amazing time we had! The only downside to it all is that we did not have enough time to do everything we wanted!! First- the home is immaculate and more stocked than any house we have ever stayed in. The kids and adults loved the pool and jumping off the dock! The men enjoyed waking early every morning and fishing in the quietness. The lake is busy during the day and we enjoyed watching boats and jet skis ride by. We loved kayaking and seeing other families out and about. Everyone is so friendly. The 2 kitchens were perfect for our group size! We loved cooking big meals and eating outdoors. There are so many good things about the house there are too many to list. Every detail you can think of was there and perfect. Linens, supplies, welcome basket of candy, books about the area... the list just goes on and on. Oh and the kids loved the cats and waking up each morning to feed them! Now on the Hickory itself. We thought we just found a nice lake house. NO! We found a GEM of a town and fell in love with it! It is so quiet and quaint but has everything at the same time. Publix, Walmart, sams, you name it. We went to local farmers market one day and had the BEST homemade popsicles! We had lunch at Hickory Station (amazing!), brunch at Hart and Soul (amazing), went tubing with Jacob Fork Adventures (that was an experience lol), had drinks at the local marina, and there was so much more we wanted to do but ran out of time! The hosts are amazing and welcoming and just a text away. We have rented 5-6 houses in VRBO and this is by far the best experience! Thank you Dennis!
