Positive: My husband and I celebrated both our honeymoon and birthdays here, and it exceeded every expectation. We did tons of research before booking, and we’re so glad we chose Ladera and the Soufrière area. This part of St. Lucia is stunning, authentic, and less touristy than other regions — everything you’d want for a romantic and relaxing getaway. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the “pinch-me” views, luxurious amenities, and exceptional service. Every staff member we met was warm, genuine, and attentive. Even the General Manager and his wife were present and friendly — something you don’t often see at luxury resorts! We’d love to share a few special shout-outs to the amazing team members who made our stay unforgettable: - Rosemarie (Housekeeping): Her energy and kindness brightened our mornings — we looked forward to seeing her every day! - Hilarius (Hideaway Rum Bar): Our rum-making class was one of the highlights of our stay, thanks to his knowledge and great sense of humor. - Sherin (Reception): She went above and beyond for us, especially after an unexpected excursion mishap. Ladera also offers a diverse and well-curated selection of experiences, from culinary adventures to cultural immersions. One standout was the local fish fry night, which captured the heart and soul of St. Lucian culture with amazing food by Ladera's exceptional chef, music, and community vibes. The attention to detail across the entire property—whether in the service, design, or guest experience—was of high quality. It was the little touches that made a big impact: the thoughtful treats left in the room, the warm, curated wine and rum rooms (though the rum room could use a bit less air conditioning to better reflect the island vibe), and the seamless way every need seemed anticipated. Having a mobile phone provided to contact staff at any time was a thoughtful and convenient touch that made us feel supported and looked after. A little more island soul on-site with more evening experiences would bring even more depth to the stay. Meeting Christian and Sonja, the resort's managers, was an absolute pleasure. Their presence and genuine hospitality gave a unique character to the resort—warm, attentive, and sincerely welcoming. Positive: The staff were wonderful, especially the butlers - the location and setting is exceptional and overall it was an amazing experience to stay there. The F&B offer was good, the live music was very good and the musicians worked hard to entertain.

Negative: We were guests for 5 days in January and the weather wasn’t great - rainstorms rolling through and a lot of strong wind - the ‘three wall’ concept for our room was a bit challenging and we had some sleepless nights with the noise from the storms and the wind blowing through the room. What goes with the amazing connection to nature and the laudable avoidance of airconditioning is the need to respond to the variations in weather, the buildings were cleverly designed to achieve this but it’s not as simple as switching the aircon on and off! A note on the Tablet would maybe help guests to work out how best to set the louvres to be comfortable!
