Positive: Very kind people at their nice little restaurant, comfortable house boat with a terrace on the water.

Negative: Except for boating there wasn’t much to do in the immediate surroundings. For nice walks we had to take the car.

Positive: I booked La Mare and only then, a few days before arrival, decided to read reviews. You’ll notice that they’re a mixed bunch and, to be fair, I understand why but there are a few things I read which are just unfair. The cleanliness, quality of accommodation, comfort, WiFi (seriously? People rate a place based on WiFi?!) were all excellent. On top of this, the staff were incredibly pleasant and helpful. We arrived a little after reception was due to close but they contacted me and explained that they’d wait. Staff were always on the end of an SMS if I needed any local knowledge too.

Negative: I didn’t ’not like’ this but I wish I’d been a little more aware of the area that La Mare is in. Essentially, you’ll be in the middle of a (very quiet) industrial estate. Don’t expect to be surrounded by bars, cafes, restaurants. You’ll be surrounded by warehouses. This didn’t bother my family and I at all. The area is quiet and very safe. The view from our houseboat (number 5) was lovely too - overlooking the river and a series of other yachts and boats. The tram line was a 5-10 minute walk away and the centre of town was about a 10 minute tram ride. We loved the chance to get some steps in every day!

Positive: New, modern houseboats equipped with everything from microwave to toaster and dishwasher. Very clean except the shower drain.

Negative: It is located in an industrial harbor so the neighborhood wasn’t that charming although there was a lovely stripe of green with trees to the west through which the sunset was lovely.

Positive: Very interesting concept - a floating home :) It is nice to wake up in the morning and have a coffe with a view on a water. The cabin has two bedrooms, and a living room with kitchen. All nice and clean, although floor could be a bit cleaner. The location is between some docks where various ships are packed for repair. It was fun for us, other people may take it differently. But overall very good impression, we would stay there again.

Negative: Personally I did not like the pillows, but that's my problem, I like it low :)
