Positive: Wonderful apartment just in the Medina area with a fantastic helpful, friendly and very responsive host Mohamed. He met us late at night after Turkish airlines changed our flights and guided us to the apartment and made sure we were comfortable and settled. He even arranged a taxi for us back to the airport and came with us to the meeting point and made sure everything was completely in order. He surprised us more than once with cool drinks and delicious local specialties. The apartment itself is gorgeous. A Tunisian style house with beautiful tiled walls, cheerful design and delightful lights and paintings, great A/C and shower with lots of hot water and pressure and, a dining area and kitchen. It was just a few minutes from the mosque and the maze like souks. We had everything we needed to prepare our own breakfasts and had we wanted to, other meals too. The entrance has some steep stairs to the apartment but Mohamed took our cases up for us, which we really appreciated after 20 plus hours of flying to get there.
Negative: Bathroom floor gets wet when we showered but I prefer that to being cramped when showering and there was a squeegie to help dry the floor.
Summary: Fabulous apartment with a genuine gentleman host.

Positive: The host is extremely helpful and kind - he would explain the history and architecture when we asked and helped us communicate with locals or help book a taxi when we needed, the room was also exceptional and looked better than the photos showed. I would definitely come back and I would 100% percent recommend going there.

Positive: The apartment is located within the Medina in a quiet area that is close to an exit at Kasbah Square, so pretty easy to get a taxi (use InDrive). It is walking distance to everything in the Medina including cafes and some restaurants (from small but good holes in the wall to real restaurants). Note: finding a glass of wine may be challenging in this locale, but I'm sure its possible. The apartment has been renovated, so the kitchen and bathroom are newer. Given the location, the building is older and the stairs into the apartment are a little steep and might be a challenge for people with mobility issues. the host is very friendly and responsive. I recommend this apartment.
Negative: While, the bathroom has been renovated and the fittings are relatively new and modern, it is an open shower concept and the floor tilts the wrong way (away from the drain). So, the entire bathroom floor will get wet. They have provided a squeegee for post-shower clean-up, but it would be nice not to have to use it.
Summary: Great location in the Medina! Short walk to everything.

Positive: Great friendly host, came to greet me at Medina and helped me to navigate. Also helped to arrange the cab for me on day of departure. Highly recommended!
Negative: Bathroom drain was blocked but the host fixed quickly.
