Positive: A beautiful quiet location beside the Lot near Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, with Sean and Julie being very helpful and friendly hosts (with a friendly cat and dog too), and a house that they have tastefully renovated, which was comfortable and clean. Add to that the air conditioning made it even better since it was very hot during our stay. We took Sean and Julie’s recommendations and reservations for restaurants and were not disappointed, and their breakfasts were excellent too. Altogether, first rate.

Negative: Nothing.

Positive: Beautifully renovated OLD home close to Saint Cirq and directly on towpath, Chemin de Halage. Very comfortable room with air conditioning. Best aspect was the hospitality from Julie and Sean, including making us a dinner reservation, and cooking us breakfast of eggs and bacon and home-made yogurt.

Summary: Don’t miss the hospitality in this beautiful home near the most beautiful village in France.

Positive: La Maison de Ganil was the last stop on our way back home to Blighty.....we wish it was for at least another night or two! Our hosts Julie and Sean were wonderful and welcoming. We had booked into a restaurant in Lapopie but Sean suggested another place which was fantastic. The setting is just beautiful and there are so many things to explore along the river and trails to walk. The village Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, like many French villages, is just simply beautiful and you feel like you are back in time. The house itself is a restored farmhouse on the river. Restored by Sean and Julie themselves to a high standard and is simply wonderful. In the morning we had breakfast (excellent eggs cooked by Julie) in the family kitchen with another couple from Belgium, how lovely that was. In short, if you want a peaceful getaway in nature, I doubt there's many better places to stay.

Positive: We liked everything! The hosts were just lovely and made our stay so much more than we initially thought. We were welcomed and shown to our room and Sean offered to make dinner reservations for us by phone to ensure we could eat at the recommended places which was very kind of him. The whole house is beautifully renovated and we were very happy with our room and the character with the wooden beams and decor. The Aircon was a big plus after our walk back from town. Breakfast was lovely, prepared fresh with lots of choice and we enjoyed a lovely chat whilst we ate (Sean did a fabulous job of the eggs haha). The location of this property is very special!! The peacefulness and stunning views of the rocks exceeded our expectations from the photographs. We took a lovely walk along into Saint Cirq-Lapopie, which is just stunning and in the opposite direction along the canal way/river into Bouziés where there was more to explore if we'd stayed longer. We were sad to leave and wish we had stayed longer. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!!!

Negative: We didn't feel like anything was missing and there was nothing we didn't like - the hosts were on hand to answer any questions or provide any advice and really went above and beyond for us.

Positive: The property is nestled in the forest, next to the river. The location was stunning. Julie and Shaun were incredible hosts with many great recommendations. Every part of the house is beautifully decorated. The rooms were brand new, spacious, comfortable and well equiped. We loved everything about our stay here and will definitely come back!
