Positive: Great location in the old town. The manager and staff were superb! Rooms were decorated with high quality furnishings and were extremely comfortable. Made to order breakfast was phenomenal .

From the very first moment, it felt like coming home. We stayed in the Master Suite, and words can hardly do it justice. Overlooking both the charming backyard and the quiet front street, the room was beautifully appointed and incredibly comfortable. The house, with just four rooms, exudes intimacy and charm—every space tells a story, elegantly decorated with impeccable taste. Breakfast was an experience in itself—prepared with love by Emma and her team. Fresh, crusty bread, creamy butter, local jam, perfectly cooked eggs... Simple, yet elevated to something truly memorable. It was honestly one of the best breakfasts we had during our two weeks in the South of France. The amenities were equally outstanding—the serene living room, the relaxing heated pool, and the hamman created a true haven. The care and passion Emma and her husband put into this place is felt in every corner. Their local recommendations made all the difference in our experience in Aix—genuine, thoughtful, and perfectly curated. We are incredibly grateful. La Maison d’Aix became the highlight of our entire trip. This place isn’t just a hotel—it’s an experience, and one we’ll return to again and again. Indulge yourself at 1785. You’ll never forget it.

Positive: Close to but not in the busy foot traffic area, unique and elegant boutique style, private lounge areas with many books, overstuffed furniture if you want to stay in during the day, but the best part was the staff. So friendly and helpful. What would you like for breakfast? How would you like your eggs? What kind of coffee? Where can I find a suitcase to buy? What is the best bakery? Anything under the sun. I didn’t want to leave this wonderful place.

Positive: Our hostess / concierge, Camille, was fantastic. I would hire her in a second. Our room was spacious, clean and beautifully appointed. The Maison is centrally located in the old town and there are plenty of good restaurants nearby. I would stay there again. However next time, I would not take a car. The hotel does not offer parking and it took us 2 hours to find a public garage that wasn't full.

Negative: One night the electricity went out and the only door out was locked and could not be opened from either the inside or outside. They need to get a battery backup system or some other sort of emergency door release.

Summary: Wonderful stay with a couple of not so minor problems.
