Positive: Clean, calm, silent and very beautiful

Negative: The swimming pool was not heated and we reserved mostly because of the indoor, non-stop swimming pool reported in the hotel description and confirmed in the q&a section. That was very disappointing for us but mostly for our four year daughter that requested to check the pool temperature almost hourly.

Positive: Such a wonderful place in between Umbria hills, La Fortezza Alta welcomed us warmly providing everything we needed. The stay took place in one of La Fortezza's lovely apartments, with Wi-Fi and Air conditioning to counter summer's heat during our working days. We had a swimming pool right next to the apartment which was the cherry on top, to be used at our discretion any time we wanted. Francesca took care of every additional need we had, for example providing us a can of their wonderful home-made extra virgin olive oil for our lunches or setting up morning breakfasts for all of us. We are grateful to have discovered such a wonderful place and we are looking forward to coming back to Umbria and staying again in this wonderful medieval castle.

Positive: A delightful oasis nestled among the Umbrian hills, La Fortezza Alta gave us a wonderful reception, providing everything we needed. The pool right next to our apartment was the perfect addition, available for us to enjoy whenever we wanted. In La Fortezza you can find everything you expect from a stay in Umbria from a wonderful restaurant to farm animals to pet in the vicinity of the premises. Francesca was always on hand to assist with any additional requests, even organizing morning breakfasts for our entire group. We're so grateful to have found this incredible spot and can't wait to return to Umbria and stay once again in this magnificent medieval castle.

Positive: We had an amazing stay as a family of 5 (children aged 12, 10 and a 1 year old baby). The property and location were absolutely beautiful, rustic and charming. The children loved the animals, there was a pig wandering around, chickens, 2 donkeys and 3 friendly dogs they enjoyed stroking. The grounds meant the children could play safely outside and as mentioned adored the animals. Everyone we encountered at the property and in the town were very friendly.

Negative: The only downside was on arrival we initially struggled as there was no answer for the buzzer to get through the gates. But following a phone call to the property this was quickly resolved.
