Positive: The accommodation was different and our hosts went to a lot of trouble to ensure that we were comfortable. It was clean and homely. The breakfast was wonderful.

Negative: The toilet was not en suite, but we understand why, would be good if the description should be specific about this.

Summary: We arrived tired after a long drive, and left revived

Positive: Very welcoming owner couple. The breakfast. Gorgeous building. Outdoor space. Kitchen facility.

Negative: The bedding smelt somebody's sweat. Wi-Fi was too weak in my room, but was fine in the hallway, which had a nice arm chair where I sorted the plan for the next day.

Positive: Great value for money! The family apartment is very large with huge windows overlooking the grounds of the chateau. Breakfast was a special treat because so much of it (jams, granola, bread, etc.) was homemade. Dorothy and her partner are wonderful hosts and put great care into making their guests feel at home. The chateau has been in her family for 120 years! It has such a homely feeling and kept our eyes entertained with all the interesting antiques, photographs, and comics. The mattresses were heavenly! So comfortable! We loved the location, near enough to visit the big city but with the peace of the countryside.

Negative: We didn't realise that the rooms don't have private toilets. The family apartment does have a private shower and sink, but not a toilet. Our room shared a toilet on the landing of the stairs with another guest room. It was a little awkward in the morning when there were six people queued up on the stairs for the toilet.
