Positive: The very functional apartments are a hidden treasure, up in the hills above Salo, partly with lake view. Ideal starting point for making excursions in the region. The interior design displays charming details- The host is very friendly and engaged. Our contact was online only - but very caring and effective.

Negative: One really has to watch ones head in the appartment under the roof. In some corners, I learned it the hard way ;)

Summary: Good base for excursions in the hills above salo!

Positive: The views from this home are really incredible - it's high up on the mountain and overlooks Lake Garda from afar. It's located in a tiny town that is beautiful and quiet. It almost feels like you're in a fairy tale. The home is very spacious and clean, with an updated bathroom and kitchen. There is free parking less than a block away. Our host was wonderful - and she was extremely helpful with local recommendations of things to do and places to eat. She was also very responsive when we needed something. There are two cats that live next door that my children loved playing with. ;)

Negative: We were there in mid-July, and it was unbearably hot (in all of Italy). Although there is an air unit in the main living area downstairs, it isn't centrally located, and you could only feel the air if you stood right under it. Even on high power, it did nothing. :( The AC in the second bedroom upstairs was also placed far in the corner - under a skylight - so the only part of the room that got cool was that tiny corner. Our son had to drag the futon mattress under the AC unit to sleep. The AC in the master bedroom worked well and the room got cool. I think it we had been there any other time of year it would have been totally fine - but I wouldn't recommend staying here when it's hot outside. The hot water also wasn't working when we were there - but the hosts were very responsive and they allowed us to shower at another rental unit they had nearby. *This home is located near the top of a mountain, so you will definitely need a car (not a problem for us, but worth mentioning).
