Summary: Mr. Vatch was not there when we visited but his staff were very helpful, and yes, as per others comments, we did boil our own eggs for breakfast. Our room was spacious, the bed was firm and comfortable, theres a little fridge, air con, Wi-Fi connection had good speed and never dropped out once, the compound was serene and the resident dog kept us company. Airport transfer available for very reasonable price, and motorbike rental can be arranged by the staff. Its located halfway between the crag and the local produce market, with at least three great coffee shops and an amazing Thai massage place across the road from the market.

Summary: This place was like staying in an art museum. Beautiful Thai style architecture where you are surrounded by gardens and open gallery rooms full of artwork. The rooms were simple but adequate and very clean, the area was incredibly quiet ( no roosters!). Diane ran the restaurant and her food was always amazing. We were there for the climbing, and you could easily walk to the Crazy Horse Buttress from the guesthouse. We also rented motorbikes for two days and the roads around Mae On are fantastic for motorbikes. We highly recommend this place.

Summary: Great property. Very nicely maintained. Walls were thin on my room, however I think hey have others that are more private at a more expensive rate. The food was good, get the Pad Thai. Breakfast was okay, however no bread and instant coffee.

Summary: My boyfriend and I loved staying at La Bhu Salah. It was one of our favorite parts of our month long trip in Thailand. The resort and rooms are absolutely stunning and you could spend a whole day wandering around the property looking at the museum, ponds, artwork, nature, or just the beauty of the place. We were warmly welcomed by the owner upon our arrival and taken to our room. The room was spacious with a large fan and big bed and bathroom complete with GIANT stone bathtub. The people working at the resort are some of the nicest people we connected with on our trip-two of the young men even rented us their personal motorbikes for a few days. The little restaurant on the property is managed by the nicest woman (Pong) and she is a wonderful cook and even lovelier woman. We were invited to share some local whiskey and food with the owner, Pong, and her husband on our last night. We spent hours sitting around bonding and google translating words for each other. This place is very much worth the trip outside of Chiang Mai (about 45 min by minibus or taxi). Great for climbers of Crazy Horse, couples looking for a retreat, or anyone wanting to have a quiet and more local experience of Thailand. We will definitely be back and stay at La Bhu Salah again!

Summary: Got out of the city and experienced the loveliness of Northern Thai culture. We rock climbed, saw the amazing Muang Cave, ate from the local market each day and was treated to the genuine warmth and hospitality of the staff at La Bhu Salah. They were kind enough to rent us a scooter and help us coordinate a ride back to Chiang Mai. La Bhu Salah and the beautiful Mae On valley were the highlight of our 3 week trip. We will be back.

Summary: This place was the sweetest little paradise in the most gorgeous surroundings. A popular climbing area is nearby so there are inexpensive hostel type rooms but also rooms like the one I had which was a large double overlooking an amazing water garden area. The staff tried very hard to make our stay enjoyable.
