Positive: The accomodation is in the middle of French fields and countryside. It is calm and quiet. We enjoyed it to the very last bit. We were looking for a small chateau that would offer a familiar vibe. This was perfect. We had breakfast together with other guests, croissant and baguette. Your options are not infinite, but they are all good and tasty! We also wanted to try their dinner so we booked for the second night, it was great and also very good value for French standards. We also had a selection of cheese later but I couldn't eat anymore, so our host was nice and brought them out for me for breakfast!!! I love animals so I particularly enjoyed that there were dogs, cats and horses around, many of them sooo friendly. The bed was comfortable, the room offered enough space and it was all clean. Some people here comment on the fact that it is a negative experience how familiar is this place... but if you don't like it and need more privacy you should go elsewhere. I assume those who come here are aware that they are guests at someone's home, so take it for what it really is, and for that it was the best!

Positive: This was our very first french hotel so we didn't know what to expect. The room was so lovely and very felt traditional french. The bed comfy and we had everything we needed We enjoyed a bottle of wine in the beautiful grounds surrounded by gorgeous gardens At breakfast we were introduced to sheep's yoghurt which is amazing and the owner also brought in non dairy milk because of my allergies Overall we enjoyed our stay here

Negative: The shower was handheld only so a challenge to have a normal standing shower I had informed the hotel on booking that I had a lactose intolerance which was confirmed on arrival so my option for dinner was the same as everyone else but without the creamy sauce over the steak. It was fine but a little dry

Positive: The owner couldn't have been more helpful. We had car trouble and I asked if he had any tools. He immediately fetched a toolbox for us to take and try. We fixed the car. Without his help it woukd have been inpossible to get to the ferry the next day. Wonderful man. He also cooked an amazing 4 course meal for us in the evening. Bookable. Steak, wine, cheeses, dessert, etc. It was absolutely delicious. Breakfast was lovely too. The house was stately and the grounds immaculate. Dog loved it.

Negative: Blankets on the bed. Not used to blankets and found them too heavy . Quilt would be lighter and warmer. Other than that. A wonderful stay. Wonderful host.

Summary: Couldn't have been more attentive.
