Welcome to L'Atelier de notre Grand-Père! Come and stay in this characterful accommodation for 6 people. Ideally located close to the German border, the Rhine and Colmar, everything you need for a pleasant stay. The accommodation comprises a living room, a fully-equipped kitchen, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a terrace with a Jacuzzi for relaxing in the sun. Bed linen and towels provided.
Opened in 2021, after more than a year's work, with the family's history as the starting point and the farm workshop built in 1929 that had to be completely rehabilitated, enlarged and fitted out. Isabelle & Anne-Sophie offer you all the comforts you need for an ideal stay!
The accommodation
All on one level, the house is laid out as follows:
Day area:
- Living room with corner sofa, armchair, connected TV.
- Open-plan, fully-equipped kitchen: oven, dishwasher, hob, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, crockery and cutlery, dining area for 6.
- Fitted laundry room with washing machine, tumble dryer, storage, vacuum cleaner.
Sleeping area
- Bedroom 1: queen-size bed (160 cm x 200 cm) with private bathroom with walk-in shower and WC.
- Bedroom 2: queen-size double bed (160 cm x 200 cm).
- Bedroom 3: two single beds (90 cm x 200 cm), which can be joined to form a king-size bed (180 cm x 200 cm).
- Shared bathroom with walk-in shower.
- Separate WC.
Exterior:
- Beautiful south-facing terrace with garden furniture, deckchairs, barbecue, HotSpring Jacuzzi for 6 people, accessible and heated all year round. The property is screened off from the courtyard.
- Individual courtyard with private parking for two to three vehicles, including an electric vehicle charging station, and a 30 m² lawn area. The whole is private and delimited by a property wall.
The attached garage is available for storage of roof boxes, motorcycles, bicycles or other items.

The property is very close to the German border, the Rhine and its tourist and cultural attractions. You're also just a few kilometers from Colmar. Bakery and supermarkets 2 km away. Numerous shops nearby, as well as a gym and bowling alley less than 200 m away.

For your outings, leisure activities and visits, there are numerous excursions available in the immediate area, including the Vauban city of Neuf-Brisach, a UNESCO World Heritage site, the Rhine, its canals and cycling routes (including the Eurovélo 15, 300 m away), Germany, the town of Breisach and the surrounding vineyards. The Kaiserstuhl, the German home of mountain biking and hiking. Nearby, Colmar, the Alsatian vineyards, Europa Park and Freiburg in Germany, as well as numerous tourist and cultural sites. After a break in the heart of the Massif Vosgien, set off to discover the Route des Vins, a mythical itinerary that invites you to the most beautiful discoveries! One thing's for sure, whatever the length of your stay, it's sure to be a busy one.

Summary: L'Atelier de notre Grand-Père "This gîte is delightful! It is the perfect combination of old and new, with all the conveniences - and a huge spa! We had travelled for 2 days from Australia by the time we arrived, and were exhausted and frayed. Kids jumped in the spa and everyone was immediately more relaxed! Very friendly and helpful hosts who responded quickly both before and during our stay. Location is great, very easy to get around Alsace and across to Freiburg/explore some of the southern Black Forest - you will need a car. Couple of things to note: 1. If you are staying more than a couple of nights make sure that you put toilet paper and laundry detergent on your list (enough is provided to start) 2. Currently there are construction works on the road outside. We are early risers so this didn't affect us at all, but if you like to sleep in then it would be worth checking prior to booking to see if this is complete. Overall, highly recommend :)"

Summary: L'Atelier de notre Grand-Père "Seb's home has a great story which he can share with you once you reserve his home. It's super new and clean and has ample space for many people. We felt like we were at home and spread out as needed. After returning from a day visiting Christmas markets, we took some time to refresh in the jacuzzi which was fantastic. The location is near a UNESCO World Heritage site and there are two great markets nearby, Lidl and Intermarche. If you are interested in also visiting Germany, this home is literally a 3 minute drive from Breisach, Germany. Location is excellent in that your near Colmar and all the amazing 16th century villages in the Alsace. Seb was a great host and was attentive to us. He checked in with us often to see how were were doing. Best of all, he let us check in early which allowed us to dump our bags and begin exploring. If we go back to the Alsace, there is no doubt we are returning to this wonderful home. Thanks again!"

Summary: L'Atelier is delightful and a high quality conversion. The decor was creative and admirable. The facilities were excellent. Communications with the family were easy and the location was good for learning about the wines of France ( around Colmar) or Germany ( Kaiserstuhl). Pretty villages, a majestic river nearbye all made for a fine stay. L'Atelier is a testament of love from the family to their Grandfather.
