Negative: the rooms are located in a rather isolated territory where the closest bakery/SM is 20-30 minutes away. It's not easy when you travel with kids unless you have supplies with you. The property owner was so kind to welcome us with many groceries but that didn't saved us from the trip the next day for breakfast.

Positive: We stayed at Kythera Secret Suites (the Anoi upper apartment), and from the very first moment we experienced true Greek hospitality. The welcome and check-in by the owner’s family set the tone — warm, thoughtful, and genuine. As soon as we opened the door, the fresh, clean scent was inviting. The apartment is modern yet cozy, with tasteful design, a fully equipped kitchen, modern appliances, and a homely feel. The bathroom was spacious and even had a washing machine — very convenient for a longer stay. The fridge was stocked with water, refreshments, and milk, while coffee, sugar, spices, olive oil, pastries, and fresh fruit were waiting for us — a generous and thoughtful touch (what more could one ask for?). The location in Viaradika is perfect, right in the middle of the island, making it easy to explore every corner of Kythera. Giorgos, our host, and his family were simply amazing — attentive, kind, and always making us feel at home.

Summary: A truly wonderful stay — highly recommended.

Positive: Modern and beautiful place, done with great taste. Even the smallest detail is thought through. Ideal for a family, perfect place to unwind. The owners have been extremely helpful and hospitable, they even stayed up very very late at night to make sure we check-in in good order and we find everything. You’ll be nicely spoiled!

Positive: The location is central in the island, so we were about 30 minutes from everywhere (the island is pretty big)

Negative: We booked 2 apartments for 2 families. The stone apartment is not suitable for a family as there is no space to eat for breakfast. The table is super tiny and the space outside didn’t have anything to shadow the area except a broken umbrella which didn’t work considering that in Greece meltemi blows always. The second “room” for the kids was exposed to the rising sun and didn’t have a blackout curtains nor anything to keep the room dark and fresh, do the kids were awake every morning very early with a lot of light and hot (air cond is only in the bedroom). The owner showed up after 3 days when we had trouble with the toilet maintenance. He is a kind person and offered a fan for the kitchen/ room but to be honest for the price we paid (more than €200 per night) our staying wasn’t as we expected. The apartment is ok for a couple but for a family needs adjustments

Positive: The rooms are in a serene location, far away from any noise or distraction, very close to the beautiful village of Mitata. Very clean and the traditional constuction made for a very original experience. The host was very helpful with his instructions and it was easy to find the rooms and the keys. They also left us sleep a bit late after ending our work in the early morning our the day before which was a nice gesture.

Negative: Well the rooms were really nice but not for a big group like ours. There were 2 large double beds but the rest of the beds were couches, 2 of which were rather small for grown men (for kids they would be ideal). Also they rooms were quite pricey but that I was rather expecting in Kythira due to the island's lack of options.
