Positive: The accommodation itself was really nice: clean, modern and comfortable with a well-equipped kitchen and nice communal area. Skylights were perfect for spotting the Northern Lights from and we were lucky enough to see them during our stay. TV screen was nice and big and we were able to use Netflix.

Negative: There are a couple of issues with this hostel that put me off staying here again when we returned to Nuuk: 1. You can't access the property even to store baggage until 4pm on the day of your stay. We were lucky enough to bump into a member of staff leaving, so were able to store our bags and we helped out 2 new arrivals the same way. If this hadn't happened our first day would have been a write-off (we were the only guests that day and it is unstaffed, so no one else could have let us in). What can you realistically do in an icy city with no baggage storage facilities if you have to carry all your bags with you? Our flight had arrived mid-morning. It wasn't clear on booking that we couldn't access the building at all until 4pm and most hostels would let you store suitcases at least before your room was ready. 2. There is a steep icy slope you have to carry your bags up to get to the property. This wasn't ideal with a heavy suitcase and wasn't something we encountered at any other hotel we stayed at. At the top of the slope, there were steps, which was much better.

Summary: Lovely property, shame about steep slope in winter and lack of access to store baggage before 4pm

Positive: Superclean, modern, and still warm and cozy. Perfect room (at least room number 2): spacious enough, furnished well incl. a writing desk. Fully equipped kitchen, free coffee and tea. Helpful staff.

Positive: Comfortable, clean and quiet hostel near the centre of Nuuk. Very well equipped kitchen

Negative: The only improvement would have been to have a reception/ staff on site to provide information, book trips, taxis etc. Everything is done remotely

Positive: A beautiful hostel in the heart of Nuuk close to great eating places, the museum (one of the best I’ve ever visited), Nuuk Centre and the harbour. The hostel is tastefully decorated with a lovely dining area and spaces and lounges to relax. The room was really spacious with great views from the windows. While we were there in the beautiful summer it was still quite cool with temperatures between 2-4 but the entire hostel was so cosy and warm. The kitchen was excellent with an amazing range of cookware, two oven’s and lots of bench space. There was a well fitted laundry and two bathrooms, one with a bath that was so lovely after a days outing in and around Nuuk.

Negative: It was all so lovely except the mattress and pillows were a bit soft for us but that probably just comes down to preference :)

Positive: Comfortable bed, nice common area, washing machine and dryer provided. A very good option for a stay in Nuuk! Also, I arrived early and they emailed me the previous doorcode to leave my luggage. I could even have my room early eventually which is very much appreciated!
