Positive: The hosts were amazing. Can arrange pick up from the airport and has a wealth of knowledge about the region. Ketut could find a needle in a hay stack, he also hires out push bikes and does tours through the rice fields. The location was excellent. Some beautiful walks in the area. Close to Ubud. Two blocks from the restaurant strip. Plenty of Gojek in the area if you don't feel like walking. Yoga Barn is also near by. Kemong provides tea and coffee every morning with surprise snacks or local fruit. I loved every minute of my stay. Every time I walked through the front gate to the compound I was in my Sade place. The gardens are immaculate and meditative especially during the summer rains.

Negative: Nothing to do with my home stay. But once you get out onto the main roads it's mad. No foot paths and is scary crossing the roads. Some shop front people stopped traffic to allow me to cross. I tended to dig bag through the back streets, they were quite pleasant.

Positive: Kubu Baliku is a homestay in a Balinese family compound. There are multiple generations of the family living there. They are all lovely and greet you when you see them. The elderly Balinese grandparents offer you food whenever you see them, it is lovely. Ketut and his wife who manage the accommodation are really nice and friendly. The room is clean and comfortable, aircon works well and shower water is hot. Wifi also works well. There are four friendly dogs who greet you when you arrive and leave. There is a light breakfast with tea and Balinese coffee made for you every day and left on your balcony for when you wake up. The breakfast changes each day, you don't know what it is until you open the basket. The location is fairly central, easy to catch grab scooters to and from. However cars struggle to get up and down the narrow road so I recommend getting off with your luggage at the beginning of the street and walking the short walk to the homestay (if you can), otherwise the car will make its way up but it may be slow and a struggle. Ketut asked me if I wanted to go with him to a local ceremony performance where his son and niece and nephews were performing, I said yes, it was a great experience.

Summary: Beautiful and comfortable homestay with lovely Balinese family.

Positive: I had the most wonderful stay at this homestay. The hosts are incredibly kind, caring, and genuinely attentive. The room was cosy and comfortable, and every morning I woke up to the most breathtaking view! The location is perfect: feels right in the heart of nature, yet only a 5-minute with a gojek from Yoga Barn. There is a laundry place just nearby, and lovely restaurants right around the corner. The whole area is very calm and peaceful — a real hidden gem. As a solo traveller, I felt completely safe and supported. The host even took me on a beautiful tour around for a very fair price, and they took such good care of me when I got sick. I am truly grateful for this stay and would happily come back again. Highly recommended!

Positive: My 4th time in Bali so I have experienced areas/different accommodations and I’ve loved my stay with Ketut he was so funny and hospitable. The facilities looks like the photos. New, clean, bathroom has hot water. You are in a homestay so in the family grounds but in a separate area and you feel independent still which I loved - homestay is the best way to experience Bali and that community feeling. The road is super quiet and beautiful! It’s 10 min scooter ride to Yoga Barn and most places in central. Honestly couldn’t fault it. I will be back when I next come back.

Negative: I had to ask for housekeeping at times but that wasn’t a problem at all as they did it on the same day.

Positive: Kubu baliku is a hidden gem of peace in busy Ubud. You get to experience the culture and hospitality of a local family who goes there and beyond to make you feel at home.

Negative: Ubud is more busy and hard to walk around in peace, which is why kubu baliku offers an incredible balance between being close to the center, and the ricefields. They offer driving lessons, bike and moped rentals and so much more while being a spiritual heaven after a busy day.

Positive: The room is very clean and confortable. The place is nested near a small road so it s very quiet. Very important point i think ! Ketut is very friendly and can organize a bike trip around Ubud or rent a scooter. Very very good deal for the price. I highly recommend !

Positive: Absolutely loved my stay here! The staff were amazing — so friendly, kind, and always ready to help with anything from booking trips to arranging transport and activities. The breakfast was delicious every morning, fresh and full of variety. The room was super comfortable, spotless, and felt really safe and homely. It’s such a peaceful place to relax after exploring Bali. Honestly one of the best stays I’ve ever had — can’t recommend it enough!
