Positive: Truly a one of a kind experience! The location was absolutely amazing, in the middle of the Periyar tiger preserve, serene and with gorgeous grounds and views from all sides. We were lucky to see groups of wild elephants just across the lake from us both evenings we were there! And what made the experience really special was the staff who went above and beyond to make us feel like royalty, including arranging all our excursions, attending to our every need and even specially preparing fish they caught for us that same day! Highly recommend and hope to come back again!

Negative: The rooms were beautiful with antique furnishings however the beds a bit hard if that is a concern for you-- we managed just fine. Hot water ran out pretty quickly. Other than that everything was very clean and comfortable! Also note that you must bring your own alcoholic beverages, but they can be easily purchased at the Aranya Nivas hotel prior to taking the boat over.
