Positive: Nice location, fantastic SPA, oke breakfast.

Negative: Outdated, not very cozy. The “bar” in the evenings is just a few tables. Not cozy.

Positive: Nicely kept hotel in good condition. I was a little concerned about the room style from the photos, but when I arrived the room was good. The wooden design is well maintained. The pool and spa were nice. Check-in time is a bit late (3pm) and there seemed to be a bit of a rush of arrivals at this time but check-in was quick enough. There was also still enough time to use the spa that afternoon on my one-night stay. I managed to squeeze in one more use of the spa the next morning before check-out but as the spa opens at 10am and check-out time is 11am it was quite rushed and not as relaxing. The staff at the spa were smiley and friendly. The room maintenance was good - everything was well kept and in working order. I was glad to have used this hotel and I have no qualms about using a standard room again. I went for a 12 mile hike in the local countryside after checking out and the hotel were happy to store my suitcase during this period. The luggage storage area was a bit open and accessible though which concerned me - but the staff were happy to store my case in their office instead. The hotel was easy to reach by train, but it is a bit of a walk from the station - not a problem if you only have a small wheeled case, but larger cases you'd best wait for a bus (it is only two or three bus stops from the railway station). However the train and bus times do not seem to align so you could be waiting 30-40 minutes in either direction. Overall a very nice stay that helped me to relax.

Negative: The room would have benefited from a desk. This would have helped me when I used my laptop to do a quick bit of online research before the next part of my trip. The Wifi and Internet worked well though. I received a message from Booking dot com the day prior to arrival. It was in French and when I translated it to English it seemed that the pool and spa were nudist-only, but in reality when I got to the pool (wearing my trucks) I discovered that the pool was actually strictly not nudist. Only the spa was strictly nudist-only. I think this needs to be made clearer during booking process rather than finding out on the day before arrival. I did not see reference to this on the hotel website either. I asked for a quite room. I received a room facing the pedestrian street. There is music playing on the street (from speakers) that I could hear it in the day time but it was not a problem at night. There was however evening music from a nearby restaurant/bar which is affiliated with the hotel. I was too tired on this occasion for it to bother me and it went quite later in the evening. The only other disturbances were the next morning with people closing doors quite abruptly. The doors don't have any soft-close mechanism that I think would solve this issue. The Spa opens at 10am. This does not give much time for a swim or sauna before checkout (at 11am) on the day of departure. An earlier pool/spa opening time would be better, or if needed open just the pool earlier. The "Standard Double Room with Wellness Area Access" was advertised on Booking.com as having a "coffee machine" but in practice this was not the case. This was a bit annoying as I really could have used a cup of coffee or tea in the morning (I had brought some tea bags and milk).

Summary: Good hotel with an even better spa and pool, situation in a lovely quiet environment.
