Positive: It’s convenient in between the Reykavik and the peninsula.
Negative: Out of all Airbnb, I have stayed during my 3 weeks trip in Norway and Iceland , this is one of the most inconvenient one. We are a group of seven people. The washing machine is very tiny. It is big enough to just wash a couple of shirts, pants and socks only. The house doesn’t have a dryer. The lock is extremely hard to open and close. The owner has to upload a 23 pages of house manual through dropbox instead of conveniently post on booking message. It took us a while to download the file and read through the whole manual. The hood range sucks in the air and releases right back inside the house. We cooked and all soaked in the food smell inside the house. If I come back to this area I wouldn’t rent from it again.
Summary: A tiny washer that can wash socks and a couple pair of clothes only.

Positive: Beautiful, cozy cabin in a quiet, secluded area. Had all we needed for our 1 night stay. Loved the view of the glacier and the hot tub was a huge perk.
Summary: Beautifully located secluded cabin

Positive: The location was quite remote, with pleasant views and it was quiet. The property was well-equipped and had a hot tub with a lovely view. The living area was nice, and the beds were comfortable.
Negative: At this property all guests were bitten by insects. We do not know if they were bed bugs or biting midges. They could have been midges, because the windows had no flyscreens so when they were opened, insects flew in. The rooms did not have black out blinds, and it was light 24 hours. (The owners said to a different customer that the windows had blinds, and also curtains, which is true, but the blinds and the curtains were quite translucent and did not block the light). Access is through a gate, which requires a phone call. That can be difficult for those of us not from Europe -- it was lucky we had one person with a phone that could make calls. I did not know about this when I booked, it was not clear on the property information.
