Wake up in the morning to the sounds of loons and Kittiwakes and take your morning coffee to the private whale watching dock located at the edge of the property. The modern kitchen has all new stainless steel appliances and all the utensils, and condiments you will need for cooking and baking. Summary: Such an amazing breathtaking vista and cottage furnished with beautiful and creative furniture and decor; mostly created by Kitty’s husband; and so many beautiful flowers and plants prepared by Kitty. Great walkway near house for stress free stroll and whale watching (when the caplain are running). Such a gracious host. Highly recommend!!

Summary: Kittiewake Cottage is pure perfection. Nature’s beauty surrounds a colorful, bright, cozy, comfortable, blissful cottage. The hostess appointed our stay with every conceivable need, down to extra toothbrushes and flip flops. Fresh flowers inside and out. We loved the multiple outside seating areas, especially the cliff deck. My husband and I watched whales swim by for hours. Perfect sunrises and sunsets while cozy under the warm wool throw provided. Kitty was a wonderful, engaging hostess. She made us feel welcomed. We will return.

Summary: Second time visiting this magical place. Bradley Cove hike across the street is one of my favorites in the entire province. Cottage is spotless, the sunflower arrangements so cheerful, the delicious gift of wine greatly appreciated, bed extra comfy and having Kitty across the street is always comforting. I wish we could come every summer. If you see an opening in her calendar, grab it. BTW the whales were great this July. We saw so many from the rocks on the Bradley Cove trail (to the left as you first see the water). We met so many nice people while walking on the boardwalk and feel so very lucky to have found this slice of paradise. Thank you so much Kitty!

Summary: Over the years, we have stayed in a lot of vacation rentals - Kittiwake Cottage has gone right to the very top of our favourites! The location, the facilities, the communication is absolutely top-notch, we couldn't have asked for more. We'd like to think that we'll be able to return one day!

Summary: It is very difficult to put into words how we feel following our stay at Kitty's wonderful cottage. Let's just stay the beauty of the surroundings is magical and the attention to detail and generosity shown by our host were beyond our wildest expectations. To be able to contemplate up close the majesty of the ocean and the spectacle of changing skies and breathtaking sunrises and sunsets on its owns makes a stay here unforgettable, but Kitty's special touches and thoughtfulness made the experience heavenly. Thank you Kitty for making your quaint, cozy and superbly located cottage our true home for a few memorable days.

Summary: Kittiwake Cottage: Wow, what an amazing trip and stay at the cottage. Nothing but warmth surrounded us as soon as we stepped out of our car rental and into the cottage, fresh flowers and plants, kitchen filled with everything that you need from spices, condiments, butter, bottled water, BBQ sauce, ketchup, mustard, relish, mayonnaise, coffee, sugars, oils, peanut butter, jams, flour and much more. Kitti had a bottle of wine and a welcoming card on the table and called to recommend surrounding areas, offered the use of anything in the cottage and informed there was fresh cod in the freezer. There were cards, puzzles, games, brochures/maps for the surrounding areas, new flip flops and outdoor blankets. The bathroom was fully stocked with toilet paper, towels, hand towels, face clothes, new toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, dental floss, and bathroom freshener. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything needed for cooking. Washer/dryer combo with detergent, TV with a variety of channels and a working music system. The touches that were put into this cottage have been very well thought out and creative. Outside was just amazing, BBQ, fresh herb garden for your disposal, flower, plants, ample sitting areas, two on the deck facing the ocean and one right on the edge of the property which allowed you to sit in paradise. Everything was very modern and unique. The trip to St. John’s was amazing but going to this cottage gave us the peace and serenity that we so needed.

Summary: There are many nice cottages for stays all throughout Newfoundland, but I feel there are none so nice as this beautiful little cottage at Western Bay. The location is amazing with beauty in all directions. The cottage is beautiful inside and out, and of course spotless and very comfortable. But there are so many things beyond this. The yard of the cottage is beautifully landscaped with flower and gardens, including an herb box so you can have fresh herbs for cooking. Every detail inside is carefully thought out to provide a comfortable and pleasant stay. The kitchen boasts the basics, but also all of the condiments and spices so you can do true flavorful cooking instead of merely heating something up. If you've forgotten anything, there are spares provided. You'll know just how special this place is when you walk in and find the bottle of wine and perhaps a surprize in the fridge. We have stayed many very nice places in Newfoundland, but this is by far the best.
