Positive: The ryokan was located in the mountains, next to a river, which was beautiful and natural. The staff provided great service. The kaiseki dinner and breakfast were delicious. The free-flowing hot spring water was of excellent quality. The hot spring baths were located next to the river, creating a wonderful experience.

Positive: The food was incredible, the onsens were all amazing, such a spectacularly beautiful location. Lovely cozy rooms, I had such a relaxing stay.
Negative: The internet was down which made planning ski outings etc. a bit difficult but otherwise everything was perfect.
Summary: Such a charming, cozy, relaxing, beautiful spot. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

Positive: Exceptional hospitality. Staff very accommodating, always anticipate our needs, quite amazing actually. Only 1 or 2 English speakers but no problem at all. We had some special meal requests which they actually tried to accommodate for the next meals (this is beyond what they need to do).
Negative: Pools were not huge, but good enough, very charming. Not so many places to hang items in the room
