Positive: I really appreciate the planners and owners for making it possible for guests with large dogs to enjoy a comfortable stay here. The pet park, the suite, and the cafeteria were all great.

Negative: The facilities and the suite were truly nice. However, the overall maintenance seemed a bit lacking. There was a careless group letting their dog off-leash in a shared public area—not even the designated pet playground—and no one was there to address it. The suite also had some damaged areas that appeared to have been left unattended.

Positive: The hotel is beautiful, with modern, nordic-inspired design and amazing park. We even regretted our dog was not travelling with us as she would be delighted to stay in such a pet-friendly place :). Attention to details is stunning there.

Negative: This is in general a huge problem in Korea to find meat-free food and we had the same problem here. Even in dishes in which one does not suspect meat might be added, it's there... It would be great if the menu clearly stated that a dish contains meat/dairy. If there is a pita described as " with tomato and arugula" we really do not suspect sausage in it ... Please, take this into account. Even a modest croissant contained ham.

Positive: Hotel was quiet and the setting peaceful.

Negative: The hotel, and room in particular were very tired and in need of upgrading or renovation. The breakfast was awful with virtually no accommodation for westerners. Not even any knives - how are you to eat the steamed (note: not fried or grilled) bacon. There was no bar and given the distance from any other facilities, the lack of a decent convenience store or mini bar was poor. Overall, not value for money.

Summary: The town of Gyeongju was amazing, the Suites Hotel was very average.
