Notes about Location:
Although Laurelwood is convenient to both Boone and Blowing Rock, it is a true mountain cabin. State maintenance of the road ends before reaching the cabin. The last part of the drive before the cabin is maintained by the Sunset Acres neighborhood and is a gravel road that is steeper and not as smooth. AWD or 4WD is necessary in inclement weather. Being familiar with driving on mountain roads is definitely a plus!
We generally won't be on hand to welcome you to your private getaway. However, we will try to provide everything you will need to enjoy your stay.
The Neighborhood:
Located 10-15 minutes from either downtown Boone or Blowing Rock feel free to explore these towns. In winter be sure to visit Beech Mountain and Sugar Mountain to enjoy the winter sports. Sugar Mountain is 25 minutes from Laurelwood. In Boone you may want to watch a game at Appalachian State. Or just take a pleasant drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway any time of year.
Although we do not allow pets at Laurelwood, we allow service animals. As such, this home is not guaranteed to be an allergy free home. Also, we do have a camera mounted on the front porch and it faces the front yard and driveway only. Video is recorded however audio is not.

Summary: Our group of 4 sisters/best friends stayed at the cabin for 2 nights and loved every minute of it! We went on several adventures in the surrounding area, but could have easily stayed son property the whole time. It was comfortable and a great place to spend time outside in nature or curled up inside.

Summary: Had a wonderful time staying in Boone! The kids loved playing in the front yard and loved all of the toys. The cabin is cozy and the amenities are above and beyond. Keep in mind the loft is open, it made it difficult for our little one to sleep, but other than that it was a wonderful trip!

Summary: Beautiful home. Thoughtfully stocked and designed for entertainment of adults and children of all ages. This was so appreciated as we have a young family. The upstairs loft area was perfect for our children to enjoy some creative play time. They have thought of it all and the beds were so comfy. The only negative is the loft area is truly a loft and not a separate room. There is no sleeping downstairs if anyone is upstairs in the loft playing as the floors are not insulated from the loft and the noise transfers to below. This was not a problem for us at all but certainly something we noticed. Would absolutely recommend and would stay again hands down.

Summary: This was our 2nd time staying at this beautiful cabin. Everything was cozy and comfortable. Location is the best. Lovely short drives to Blowing Rock, Valle Cruicis, Banner Elk and of course downtown Boone. Even the grocery store and restaurants are close by. Staying at the cabin itself was perfect to relax and unplugg from everyday life. The owner is very prompt and courteous with communicating. I hope to return again!

Summary: Me and my husband and 2 year old daughter specifically picked this rental for all of the accessories for her. It came with a pack and play, a high chair, a changing table, and gates for the stairs which were all extremely helpful. She also had tons of things to play with. The property is beautiful especially in winter. The fire and hot tub were great for the adults. We couldn't have asked for a better rental! The owner was also very communicative and left things for our arrival.
