Summary: This is a good hotel, but probably not a great hotel. It was the only hotel we stayed at in Japan that did not offer complimentary water and coffee in our room. The front desk informed us that was because we booked a cheaper rate, but that was never an issue anywhere else we stayed. I would expect these services to be available for all rates, but this hotel was the exception, and I think other travellers should be aware of this. Otherwise the rooms are clean and well appointed although the hotel does not offer much in the way of personal care products like moisturizers and face cleaners, so that's also a bit of a disappointment. The front desk staff did their best, but they appeared a bit shy and standoffish compared with other hotels we stayed at in larger cities. Overall we were a bit disappointed in this hotel and we understand that hotels in Japan make no guarantees about the services or standards like they might in Europe or North America

Summary: Very clean room and convenient location, about 10-15 min by transit to Kyoto station and within walking distance of many restaurants and attractions. Appreciated cold water dispensers and laundry rooms on the floor.

Summary: Really liked this hotel. It had everything we needed and the location worked well for us. Shops and restaurants were in walking distance and everything we wanted to see could easily be reached by public transport.
