Positive: Lovely hotel, in the mountain area. Lovely Onsen in the hotel (especially the outdoor part) We also booked a massage treatment in our room that was lovely.

Negative: This is a traditional room - well furnished. Yet a western guest: * the bed mattress was too hard ** I missed a regular chair or bench, and could only sit at floor level.

Negative: Nothing. I plan to visit again with my family.

Positive: The choice of two private onsens and one public for each gender was great. Interestingly, most of the people used the private onsens so when I went to the public one I had it to myself every time. This was the first location on our trip, and all the stress of work and regular life drifted away as I sat alone in the hot onsen water with snow falling around me. If you are planning on going to the ropeway, the local bus will take you there in about 15 minutes.

Negative: There were a lot of Westerners here. I am from the United States myself, so it might seem odd to complain about that. When my wife and I travel we prefer to be around the local people. Why would we travel somewhere and want to be with other tourists? Apparently there was a YouTube video about this place that draws a lot of Westerners. Hey, that may be a plus for some people. This place is somewhat remote. In the summer there's probably a lot of great places to hike, but in the winter there isn't a lot to do around there, and the bus only comes about once an hour. However, the pros outweighed the cons and I would return to this place.
