Positive: Kattegat is a great place. Its very quiet, clean and you have a beautiful view. We will be booking with them again when we go back to El Nido. We originally booked a hotel in El Nido and had to check out because of the noise was ridiculous all night long. So we moved to kattegat and loved it. So they saved our vacation.

Negative: I had to think about this one. The only thing that was kind of a inconvenience was the road to get to it is about 2 miles of dirt road. But we did it in a little rental car no problem. That's also why it's so peaceful.

Positive: A great place to relax right on the beach. Inexpensive places to eat nearby, nothing fancy, but very tasty. The hosts are extremely friendly and helpful. They can also provide transport to and from El Nido town or the airport at a very competitive price. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a peaceful, non-touristy place to unwind.

Positive: Rhea and Julius were so warm and welcoming, as were their staff and the locals who all continued to smile even after having been hit by Typhoon Tino 2 days prior. I highly recommend arranging private transfer to and from the property with Julius. After the hustle and bustle of El Nido our stay at Kattegat was the perfect place to relax and get away from it all. Paradise. Thank you Rhea and Julius for having us.

Positive: We loved our stay at Kattegat. The isolation of Bucana Beach was great and allowed us to fully relax and unwind. Rhea and Julius were awesome hosts and made us feel incredibly welcome. The room is great, the bed is comfortable and we loved going to sleep with the sound of waves and waking up to views of the beach which is only a few steps away. Some great beach bars and food options nearby too. Highly highly recommend.

Negative: Nothing. It was awesome.

Positive: Very calm, well maintained property on Bucana Beach. Air con and fan, fridge, little outdoor kitchen area, decent shower with luke warm water Constant cleaning and maintenance. Staff set up umbrella and padded lounger mats for you

Negative: I wanted the original beach experience as have had in other S E Asian places but overall, I didnt care for Bucana beach. The difficulty of access ( book the transfer with owner's jeep), the brownish sand, some dilapidated houses and abandoned bungalows, the unclear not blue ocean, the number of territorial dogs, the sandfly bites (to be fair these are at Nacpan too) All the above no reflection on Kattegat villas as the owner and staff and property is lovely. BUT..you may love it if you looking for undeveloped, authentic, restful, not too touristy, a bit grubby. Unsure if sea more enticing outside wet season but it was cloudy and dull grey green, nearby Nacpan is blue and sparkling (but geared for tourism)

Positive: I really enjoyed my stay here. The staff and owners were genuinely warm and welcoming. The room was clean, simple, and had everything I needed. It was such a nice place to slow down—reading on the balcony or in bed, watching the sky shift throughout the day, especially during sunset, was such a quiet highlight. The beach is literally just a few steps away, and there are plenty of bars and restaurants along the shore. It’s also just a short ride to the town proper, with easy access to tours and other beautiful beaches nearby if you want to explore. A calm, easy place to unwind.

Positive: Very clean , new, comfortable bed , kitchen and small fridge so you could cook if you wanted to located on lovely beach and within a village , and deck chairs and hammocks under shade . Hosts were very helpful and gave us a lift you airport

Negative: I would have liked the option for water refills rather than small plastic bottles provided daily. The beach is lovely , but there is a lot of plastic washing up on the shore , since it is a turtle nesting area it would be great to see this cleaned up.
