Summary: The room had old thin sheer curtain, we could see into our neighbors room and vise versa(old building has rooms with a narrow way between main walls so windows are directly across from each other like just a few feet in between them) I mentioned this to owner, he wasnt too concerned but said he'd take the suggestion. Need more hooks for clothing, towels, etc and shelves or area around sink for toiletries. (Pedastal sink is outside bathroom and right in front of window where you see into other room).

Summary: The hotel room was spacious and comfortable. There was an issue with our air conditioning and the staff changed our room right away. The hallways are quiet. Convenient street parking right in front. Don't let the lobby fool you, this is a gem.

Summary: If you are wanting a Holiday Inn type stay, keep looking but if you want a laid back stay with a gracious host, book this hotel. Alex is a wonderful host!! We had such nice visits with him! The front porch is so peaceful with a beautiful view of Lake Michigan!

Summary: Owner greeted us and was very friendly and chatty. The place is unique an amazing, wish we were staying longer to enjoy hanging in the lobby or the 2nd floor sitting area. Only downsides were wimpy shower output and no blinds on windows that faced east. Great AC though! Short walk to a good pub meal and super cold beers!

Summary: Poor lighting on the stairs and upper floors. Rooms ok. The hotel is over 100 years old and so is the bed and pillows. No curtains on windows. Owner very friendly and helpful. Good for a cheap over night stay.
