Summary: Exceptional modern/contemporary Villas (a welcome relief from the traditional!) with great space, views and amenities. Fantastic game viewing! Staff were generally very attentive and polite, and the game-drive ranger & tracker were exceptional! Contemporary “high-quality” meals & interesting menu options, from a knowledgeable chef, with generally particularly good quality of produce and preparation, and with high regard by the staff on any individual food requests. An exception was the traditional 'boma' night, when compared to other similar or even lower rated/priced lodges, with tough "over-sauced/marinated" lamb chops, and an inconsistency in the Eland loin (pieces were either tender (just right), or inedible, tough and chewy). We were also surprised by the absence of traditional stews we have become accustomed to on such evenings, e.g. oxtail, lamb & beef stew, etc. Also, the prawns offered on one of the evenings were pasty & soft. Last observation we'd like to share, was the lack/inconsistency of the “little things” of such an up-market lodge; specifically: Morning game drives - the absence of, [1] food selection (not even fruit or some porridge, muffins, etc) before the early-morning game drives, [2] napkins and cutlery with which to cut the croissants (the only item offered 3 days in a row) in order to fill with the offered grated cheese, and [3] the absence juices or water, other than coffee. Game drive snacks were also boring and repetitive.

Summary: One of the finest resorts I have stayed at in Africa. Luxury factor was a ten on ten. The service was impeccable, spa services outstanding. The food was high end and gourmet qaulity, albeit a little limited choice wise. There are 12 individual bungalow style residences, each beautifully decorated and with every possible luxury amenity. Plan on spending a lot of time in your own individual space. Each and every person on the property provided outstanding service, so much so that I felt like rewarding every individual for service above and beyond what was expected. Safety and security was excellent, organisation as well as execution of all activities spot on. Highly recommended for a couple looking for luxury and impeccable service

Summary: Kapama Karula exceeded our expectations in a significant way! The photos online do not do justice to the beautiful rooms, common areas and safari experience. My husband and I stayed there last week for our honeymoon and were truly amazed at the quality of service, the cleanliness and especially the food. The food quality was 5 star + and we were very impressed with the range of choices for the meals. Aside from the accommodations, the safari drives were fantastic. We always had the same ranger and spotter (always the two of them) and they did an excellent job at explaining the different animals and their behaviors. We saw lions, zebras, giraffes, hippos, rhinos, nyalas, buffalo, elephants and birds. Overall, it was a dream come true and I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an exciting and luxurious safari getaway.
