Positive: The mother of Jimi's house lives upstairs and was so lovely, friendly and accommodating. The house is v comfortable and spotless, the air conditioning is in all the rooms and works really well, the terrace and view are so nice. We really liked being up the hill a bit and away from it all, it was easy to walk back after dinner at the amazing Alkyoni restaurant or a day at Dragonera beach (highly recommended). You can walk over to Megalochori for supplies at the nice supermarket too. If you had elderly people or young children in the group the walkup might be tricky, but it was perfect for us. There was plenty of space for our family of five.

Positive: Apartment was really clean and comfortable. The views are breathtaking so it is worth the climb away from the port. Breakfast on the balcony is the best experience listening to the peacocks walking around while looking at the sea.

Positive: Spacious, good for families. House owners are very friendly and warm

Negative: One bedroom’s bed is probably just of double size and the air conditioning doesn’t work. It shows the temperature is 16 C but it’s definitely not, so we ended up not using it. Not a big issue if you switch on the air conditioning in the living room and keep that bedroom’s door open so the cool air can go to that bedroom. The challenge we find is the climbing. The house is on the hill, and some parts of the road is extremely steep. We are traveling with our parents and it’s quite challenging for them. Particularly under the sun! With heatwave like this, you either need to have your own car to drive to there or you need to book taxi ahead of time. And just FYI, there is only one taxi on the island and the driver is busy/ picky with the work. ( typical example of monopoly!) One time we called in the evening he didn’t pick the phone at all. Another time we managed to speak to him and he was fully booked. Because of the transportation issues, we were quite limited with our options of where to go and when to go out because our parents cannot climb the hills for multiple times per day, and one can easily get heat stroke climbing the hill under the sun like that.
